I have driven this model as the Cadillac, it was splendid! It came with a 3.0 litre V6 standard, premium fuel required. If I could, I would own one! I also love the Saturn L300, same engine, less horsepower, regular unleaded. That Saturn estate was quick, which came with the four speed automatic. Both were phenomenal vehicles!

Vauxhall-Opel's last forget into the executive car market. Back in 1994 when the Omega was launched I managed to procure a brochure for one at a local dealership. The saleswoman tried to sell me one, wherein I had to let her know that I wasn't actually old enough to drive. 😄 She sent me on my way with the brochure. I was keen on the car because my parents had a 1986 Carlton 2.2i CD at the time. I remember the 'Select' spec. If I could choose one now I's have a red one with the 2.5 V6 engine and the Summer Pack (mainly for the air conditioning) . Bit of a shame that you couldn't mix and match options as I would have picked the fog lights and a CD player as well. 😎

Thanks for the Vauxhall Omega presentation, the CDX would have been known in Australia as the Holden Commodore ( top of the range would have been the "Caprice", every electric option ). Also available in "Pick-Up" and Panelvan. The V6 I think would have been the Buick 3800cc Ecotec engine probably exported worldwide for GM customers. This engine was used to repower Vauxhall HC Viva & Magnum/ Firenza in New Zealand, this retrofit has also been seen in Canada 🇨🇦 known locally either as Envoy Epic or Vauxhall Viva HB or HC and GT. Greetings from New Zealand 🇳🇿 😀

Wow. I had a 2.6 V6 CD as my daily runner for 4 years. It cost me £3.65 for an indicator relay and two tyres in that time? Never failed a MOT. Until the wife realised it did around 16 on short runs like going to work, but 34 ish on a longer run. Basically it was like a very quick living room. 4 cam shafts!! She made me sell it around 3 years ago for a more economical daily, got more for it than I paid? OK, I do also have a 96 Z28 (which likes to drink) so I get what she is saying. Then ... after persuading my Dad to stop driving. I got his, an immaculate 2.2 16V CD, which I subsequently sold and now lives just up the road.

I inbetween model in Australia's Holden Commodore and Holden Caprice, would have been Holden Statesman, no diesel version only V6 and V8, alternative fuel capable, CNG & LPG ( period correct ) popular both sides of the Tasman for taxi proprietors & fleet operators, hope the above helps your northern hemisphere viewers.❤

Looks like the 3800cc V6 was not used in the UK. Australia & the US have had historical collaborations independant to the UK 🇬🇧

I guess the diesel was a bmw unit (that doesn’t mean good)

Yes I believe the 2.5 diesel was a BMW unit

Always thought there was a 3.0 model (later 3.2), wonder why that isn't featured?

I thought that there was a 3.0 as well. Maybe Vauxhall Opel had to remove it from sale because it failed emissions regulations. 🤔 I think that engine unit dates back to 1978.

3.0 was used in the Omega I think in late 1995 - 2000. It’s an early 1996 brochure so maybe it just missed being featured. 3.2 replaced it in 2000 so way after this brochure.

The 3.0 was for the Elite (and police cars) only. At this time, Vauxhall did a separate brochure for the Elite only
