You know the clips on the flange 4.48 are they supposed to be on the outside ? because on my Vectra C they are :(

I put mine back in as I found it, not to say it was correct in the first place. It didn’t seem to make any difference to be honest. The replacement gasket I got, didn’t have any clips at all.

did you use any mounting paste at all at the other end? here is a question for you, what would you have done if those nuts are badly corroded to a degree they look as if they are fused to the manifold? I see you have a fantastic impact wrench, that surely would help a lot :). Thank you very much indeed for posting this video.. I found it very helpful. thank you

To be honest, I only use the impact if the bolts look like they can withstand it. For the ones at the front, lots of penetrating fluid, a long bar and a good fitting socket. If you think they are seized. Go back and forth, use a wire brush and keep spraying. If you have a good torch then maybe use that. Most novices don’t and I wouldn’t recommend it, unless you’re experienced. Give them a good spray the night before, so they are soaking. My impact I used at the other end, because I always have spare clamps, so wasn’t bothered if it broke. If the studs do brake, be prepared to drill them out and use nuts and bolts. You can use paste if you’ve got it, helps it going in the hole, but the clamp should seal it.👍

@@drivewaydiyer6504 appreciated the reply mate. Will keep you updated. You know, when i looked at them yesterday i thought the nuts may have been welded in place! but the more i think about it the more i think they are probably just badly corroded.... will confirm when they are done

Leo Morse if it’s minor, then should pass, it will be an advisory, though. It will get worse though and may affect the performance of the car, as it’s in the middle of the two o2 sensors.

@@drivewaydiyer6504 thanks for the reply....the car just sounds a little noisy at startup, but once going you don't notice it. We are driving the car into the ground, before getting something else, so not so worried about performance....its got one of those terrible semi auto boxes on it.....if that fails its a car killer as the boxes are matched to the individual car, so has to go to vauxhall for encoding which costs about £750 on top of the actual box swap. I will let you know how it gets on.

Leo Morse great outcome for you, I drove on mine for a while. I got a second hand pipe for 35 quid with sensor. Glad you got sorted.👍

@@drivewaydiyer6504 I can get the same pipe you got for about £35 delivered next day brand new, but my garage said I don't need the full pipe, mine can just take the slip on mess bit on its own, so when it's dry I'm gonna get underneath it and see whats what

I was very lucky, I’ve seen them round and break. I’ve had the car a year, so maybe the nuts had been off for work, with the previous owner. I was prepared to be drilling, though.
