Vauxhall Vivaro Camper Van Conversion - Episode 4 - Building a pull out double bed!

Welcome to episode 4 of my camper van conversion. In this episode I get stuck into building a pull out double bed. I made this design by combining a few different builds I had seen elsewhere on KZbin and I'm very pleased with how it turned out.

Hi Roly, great work on the van and videos, really enjoying them. Can I ask what dimensions your bed are please? Height, width, length and depth please buddy. I have a SWB so keen to see what I can get away with.

Hi there, absolutely would be happy to, i dont know the dimensions of the top of my head and I keep the van at my parents place so next time I’m back working on it I will be sure to let you know, might not be for a few weeks tho so sorry about that

Hello from Germany, nice work! May I ask how high the bench/bed is? Do you have enough headroom when you sit? Thanks, Martin

Hi Martin, i don’t know of the top of my head, I think it’s around 30/40cm with a small 10cm mattress. If I sit up dead straight then my head just touches the ceiling but no one ever sits like that so it’s fine

Just wondering if you are going to insulate the van and if so, why you didnt do it before you fitted the furniture? The furniture is looking very good BTW. Bessy regs -Kenny

Hi Kenny, im building the furniture in a sort of modular design so it can be taken in and out of the van very easily, this way I can work on it with more space etc, also I’m using fibreglass insulation and this catches sawdust etc so once I’m ready to cover a wall up I move the furniture out the way insulate and clad/fit the walls as I go along
