Vax Platinum | Filling the water and solution tank and cleaning modes

I bought a Vax Platinum carpet cleaner a couple of - maybe three or four - years ago. It worked very well. Then Life got in the way, and I've only now got round to using the Vax to clean the carpets a second time. I'm a graduate engineer, a retired Physics teacher - and A Man: surely I knew how to use the cleaner without reading any instructions?! NOPE! And of course I can't find the paper instructions... The explanatory videos are excellent (kudos to the producers for making the message so clear) - thank you! Carpets will get cleaned today, to the admiration (yeah, right!) of my beloved She Who Must Be Obeyed! 👏👏👏

How much solution do it put in

instructions on bottle of cleaner says pour 40 ml of solution into top casing BUT your video shows the demonstrator pouring much more that that. Also in the booklet - states in RED pour solution into topcasing and then in RED top up with 1 litre of water.( on top of solution OR in the water side) Bit confused about that. BUT so far very impressed with machine. could you clarify.please,

I have just bought Vax Platinum Powermax. My questions is cleaning a large 3m x 2m wool rug on a wood floor. Just spilt coffee on it. Is this advisable on the light clean as don't want to damage the wood floor boards. Or should the whole rug be lifted and cleaned off the wood floor boards? Any advise welcome. Thank you in advance.
