Also if you take the hinge off, you might be able to twist the tap out and not have to drill it out. When tapping, if it gets really tight, you might need to break the chip by twisting it back out a little.

Many congrats on 5000+ Subscribers, Bro. Your content is gold!! Your “Pittsburgh Vaydor” intro video made me think a little in terms of customizing the gauge/speedometer/RPM. Is there a way to buy and replace it, and customize it digitally? If so, it would give the car a personable look and would be a great way to manually adjust the car’s top speed the more the engine/HP changes, odometer and a Vaydor logo feature (optional). A total “Hmmm” moment 🤔 Wonder if most people keep the stock G35 gauge after the completion of a Vaydor? #JustWondering

Yes there’s custom gauges you can install, some go with a digital dash and others get the kit to change the look of the current cluster

First and foremost congrats on hitting 5000. Second the tap is the part you are using to thread the holes and a die is the circular part its is used to thread a rode. I think you were using the correct technique, but you should do a half turn when cutting and then back out after 2 maybe 3 full turns back all the way out and clean debris. Repeat until you reach desired depth or through the hole. ******Use Lubes****** it help with maintaining parts with drill bits and tapes. Good luck and congrats again.

You need to use some form of cutting fluid when tapping holes. The friction creates a lot of heat and will lead to tool failure.

You really need to have the door alignment before you mount that hinge.

I heard the cheap hindges wont work with the newer wider front end. The door/hindge will hit the front end. I will be building a vaydor in the future. I have extensive knowledge with paint/body/welding/mechanical etc. If u have questions hit me up.

[e-mail] I'm in PA also. Very curious if they fit. Cause for the price i was thinkin ebay kit and fab it if needed. I fab a lot of stuff but pretty sure thats cast iron so i wouldn't weld it, in that case but probaly could... worst case the door falls off i guess. Lol. But I was thinkin I may end up casting a new arm or adapter or something to make it work.

Tap, you tap a hole you use the other to thread a bolt...

I don't know why you guys would build such a badass custom supercar and put these cheap chinese hinges on it. such a shame. Contact us if you want real quality and ask for Nick. With the chassis you you use to build these, you could use the kit we make for that particular car and bolt it directly on. They cost a little bit more, but its worth every penny for a high quality American made product.
