Burning bamboo gives rise to Pitru dosha (the curse of ancestors) hence bamboo should not be burnt. In Hindu funerals / last rites while taking the body to the cremation ground it is placed on a bamboo stretcher or frame but later the body is placed on wood pyre or in the electric crematorium for burning and the bamboo stretcher/frame is discarded. The bamboo stretcher is never burned. Hence, use only dhoop cones or sticks with no bamboo for incense burning. Never use agarbatti's with bamboo inside the incense sticks.
