maturity is realising there were no enemies in attack on titan, yes we hate gabi but she had her reasons too. eren completely lost himself in trying to attain revenge and freedom. thats what makes this story even sadder. we saw him in the state of happiness in the first seasons but as it ended, a little boy who just wanted to the see the ocean lost his smile.

He doesn’t have to shoulder anything. No one asked him to be the hero. He’s also not saving the world, he’s quite literally destroying it. His whole character arc is revenge for his mom and friends. Not to mention every time I watch a different anime I am kind of disappointed because the music for aot is just too perfect. It makes you feel emotional and I just don't get the same feeling when I watch anything else. I wanna comment on the 0:58 - 1:33 part (it's not gonna be related to AoT though). So when this part kicks in I picture a very tired and exhausted person who simply had enough. This person has faced too many difficulties in this life and there is absolutely no way they can keep on living like this. They want change, they want to stop feeling sad and broken, so they rise up, full of determination, and decide that they need to act because they have nothing to lose. Here I will quote Ken Kaneki's final speech because it fits the mindset of the person I'm imagining brilliantly: "As hard as we fight, we will lose it all. The people we loved and were loved by will die. No matter what, someday we'll be forgotten. To live is to be unhappy, it's futile. Even so... small and grotesque as I am, short and cruel as this life may be, I still claw forward, I still search for beauty, because it's worth it. To keep choosing and to keep being chosen." EDIT: now that I think of it, the person I described is not that far off from the way Eren was feeling I guess
