Great video on the repair. Love how you show the end-to-end process which helps newbies learn all required steps. I do have a question for you. Why not use a solder sucker (Sold-a-Pult) from the bottom of the board to remove solder from the anchors...then use air from the top for the individual connectors? I'm getting back into repairs after a couple decades away, and I did 100's of connector repairs like that years ago...before HDMI. Thanks in advance for the response!!

The method for removing solder from the pin holes isn't a bad way to do it my only concern is you are putting more heat that normal on the board in that area I mean if you know it won't damage anything around it great but I don't think you can apply that method for every single repair that has through holes. Still great video also the low melt solder I have is kinda crap which is why I don't use it that much. Maybe I should give the iSoldering XW Low Temperature Welding Wire a try.

Do you know any facsimiles i can use to reolace the black and short silver ones. I literally have every type of flux, solder, copper wire, a decent 4k scope. Should i invest in the sheets of copper strips? I have all the smd component parts and tested them but im missing a trace. Im almost 100 percent sure i know which one. Im not doing this for profit. Im giving away the system to a friend who cant afford a system. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Ill even give you 20 as a thank you. I know this has been long winded and im sorry. The cap value is 10nf says my flir lcr meter. I can give you the part numbers for all the smd parts so you dont have to pay a fortune for mostly common parts. @VCCBoardRepairs2 жыл бұрын
If it's your first time ever soldering, I wouldn't recommend it. You would need to get familiar on how solder behaves with heat. Also need to learn how to handle components when trying to solder & desolder them. You can easily pull too hard (due to lack of experience) and rip a ton of pads & destroy it. Buy a dead PS or Xbox console board & practice pulling & placing it a few times. I'm assuming you have a legit hot air station and not some wagner heat gun.. You can use my group to ask for additional guidance: www.vccboardrepairs.com/vcc-fb-group
