Ok everybody complaining about the colours on the Switch version. You can easisly change the colour settings on the Switch by holding L and R on the title screen, which will show a bar to adjust the colour/contrast. Simply move it down a bit and the game will look arcade perfect (or even better)!!!

@@tarasybnios5356 I guess the more subtle colouring is easier on the eye for modern gamers, maybe the original seems a bit too lurid. If they'd kept as close to the original palatte as possible it would have looked awesome instead of washed out. Gimme the vibrancy of the arcade anytime!

Colors on the Switch port are so washed out. The tires are the same color as the road and the car isn't even red. I loved Virtua Racing in the arcade. Frame rate, resolution and draw distance are nice improvements though.

the colors is the only thing wrong with the switch version, other than that, it is the most impressive advanced port i ever seen....wish we had this at home when we played the genesis version.

In a recent patch you can darken the gamma by holding down ZL or ZR and then push down on the joystick or d pad to decrease gamma. You can adjust the gamma until the colors are arcade perfect or close

From a graphics point the switch has less pop in longer draw distance and smother frame rate but the arcade is better fun because of its control interface Just glad it’s on the switch

I bought a Japanese Nintendo cash card to get this game on my Switch (it wasn’t announced for US yet). Sega is sitting on a goldmine with model 1-3 arcade games for Switch and they’re not capitalizing.

Esse jogo é atemporal...eu adorava jogar nos arcades...pena que depois que trouxeram o Daytona ele sumiu... outro top dos arcades era o super monaco gp no gabinete é espelhado por dentro.? Os caras foram muito engenhosos...quando voce ia ultrapassar um carro, os espelhos dentro do cockpit davam a impressão que o carro estava passando ao seu lado mas era apenas ilusão de ótica... É outro jogo que valia a pena jogar nos arcades...

The Switch version has a smooth 60fps compared to the original's 30fps (and Mega Drive version's 20fps) Use an upscaler to play in 4K.

The Mega drive version is actually 15fps, the 32X is running at 20fps

Let's clear this common mistake up for good, the difference in color reproduction is caused by the wrong mix of the Switch's RGB setting of Full/limited i.e RGB values of 0-255 and 15-235 respectively with a commonly found 'black level' setting on many modern HDTV's if this combination is wrong, the colors look garish and blown out, the Switch has proper shadow transparencies, and doesn't rely on dithered meshes.

There's no excuse for the inaccurate colours but if I had to make one up I'd go with "shipped with a rendering bug and Sega decided not to allocate the budget for a colour correction patch to be pushed out"

Played the PS2 and 32X versions. Never knew this was on Switch and the game looks pretty good on Switch. But i think i gotta hand it to Sega Model 1. The colors are better in my opinion on Model 1.

the car is still better drawn on arcade. distance clipping issue is due to old hardware easy to correct on modern machine. still i don't understand why i have the feeling that the arcade version is smoother. it is partly due to the road being larger on switch with more full white band compared to arcade. i still prefer the arcade version as the color on switch are not faithful but it is still a wow to see the game running on this machine.

Switch is obviously the winner here. Increased draw distance, 60fps, Widescreen Support, Having it be stripped of it's extra tracks and cars makes it pure. My only gripe with it is how bright the road and tires look compared to the original. Edit: The game now has a gamma control which now has ended up being useful for returning the road to it's original color.

Percebi diferenças nas cores e na proporção de tela na versão switch, não sei se tem como usar proporção 4:3 nessa versão de switch, mas os efeitos especiais de faíscas e frenagem ficam melhores com as cores mais escuras da versão original.

Switch é dezenas de vezes mais poderoso que a Model 1, facilmente rodaria jogos de Model 2 e 3 sem qualquer problema! O únicos problemas visível são as paletas de cores que parecem ser 6bit. Também percebi que os sombreadores parecem mais simples.
