In this Physics video in Hindi for class 11 we explained how we represent a vector quantity using an arrow. As opposed to a scalar quantity, a vector quantity has its magnitude along with its deirection. The direction of propagation of the arrow gives the direction of that vector quantity and the length of that arrow gives us the magnitude of that vector.
Consider an example,
|Ā| is the notation for the magnitude of Ā
(read A cap or A hat) is the notation for the direction of Ā
Hence, Ā = |Ā| Â
Two vectors are said to be the same, only if, their magnitudes are same and their directions are same.
If we shift an arrow parallaly, it represents the same vector.
