i would say that there's no need to nerf it, you just need to changed to survival 'cos face flask is only overpowered 'cos of brutality mutations (vengeance), then I notice that all weapons and skills could be nerfed if motion twin changed them to survival. so here my appeal: make survival mutations better, motion twin! my contribution: parry makes attacks faster for x seconds. name of the mutation "open wide".

Survival mutations are some of the most powerful and some of the least powerful combined: -Armadillopack, Berserker, Soldier's Resistance, Heart of Ice are some of the most powerful mutations in the game. -Extended Healing, Blind Faith and Spite are decent. -Counterattack, What Doesn't Kill Me are pretty bad right now, with What Doesn't Kill Me having a 20-secons cooldown. -Kill Rhythm has some very specific uses.

I mained Survival until this. I was crushing the tutorial up to 3 BSC with War Spear, Frost Blast or Ice Shards, Alchemic Bow (blow gun is better so I use that now), Powerful Grenade and Scarecrow Sickles (really, I think you can sub whatever you want for those two), Soldier's Fortitude, No Mercy and Acrobatipack. I would usually end with 20/5/5 and the HotK would be fairly easy. But this new Brutality build is off the rails and I love it.

Having an amulet give a bonus to a specific piece of gear would be cool. So you could pickup an amulet that gives 5% bonus (or some other amount idk) to infantry grenade or whatever

Just got 5BC using the nerfed Face Flask with spite sword (poison/oil), frontline shield, oil grenade and fangs in the backpack. Vengeance, Porcupack and No Mercy for mutations

Removing healing from Face Flask doesn't fix the big issues with it... Here's how you actually fix the dumb thing. • Increase the cooldown slightly. • Make the self damage %max health. (5%) • Reduce the base damage bonus from Vengeance and make it scale more with Brutality. 30% (+3%) This would make recovery with Face Flask far less spammable and reduce the utility there without removing it entirely. As for Vengeance, removing healing doesn't fix a major issue... The damage... It's viable on all builds as Vengeance's scaling is pitiful compared to the base bonus. +1% per brutality with a 60% base. At 21 brutality you hit 80% and that's barely a 10% increase in TOTAL damage over someone who only has 5 Brutality in a Tactics build. Flask's healing doesn't matter. Yes, I take it even in Tactics/Survival. It's still broke AF. They're nerfing the entirely wrong part of this item.

No they're not. They confirmed that the nerf is intended, since they added healing to make sure item is not too bad, but after seeing players use it, they realised that healing was too good

I think it's fine that they remove the recovery on the face flask but just don't buff that the damage that you take since you just 2 tap enemies anyways but it takes the idea of being a health flask so I think they should nerf vengeance instead

Instead of giving recovery, make it heal you for any current recovery you currently have. it’s meant to be a health item, fair enough they don’t wanna make it too busted, but completely taking away the health regain from it is just crazy...or make it give you bonus health instead. something, c’mon...

I remember trying out Face Flask as soon as it came out, and around Cavern I got one with a star affix that gave me a shield when used. I didn't receive the damage, only the recovery percent, so no Vengeance or anything 0/10 please buff

I play on the switch and the face flask doesn't do anything besides damage me. The description doesn't say anything about healing either. It just says break it over your face and do a little damage. No clue what the point of it is. If it's not supposed to heal you but do something else it should tell you what that it. Otherwise it's the most pointless thing in the game. Who the hell wants to waste a skill slot for something that damages you and does nothing else?

EDIT: MT NERFED THE FLASK AND THE HUNTER'S GRENADE WITH THEIR NEWEST UPDATE. SO EFFING LAME. I was playing last night on PS4 and the Face Flask will heal you. I can't play this build cause I don't have the spite sword but I love using the flask. I really hope they don't nerf it. The higher your health, the less you get back. Please, please, please, Motion Twin and Evil Empire DO NOT NERF. 10/10 build. Edit 2: Used Katana, Ice Shards, Blowout (backpack), Face Flask and Hunter's Grenade Recovery, Acrobatipack and Vengeance. Ended the run with 24/7/7. Absolutely destroyed Mama, Scarecrow and HotK. I think I had 23k HP. That was on 3 BSC. My 4th or 5th run through 3 BSC since I started maining Face Flask. It is so good. They're going to nerf it. I really hope they don't but I know it is coming. I had all my normal health flasks left at the end. I think I used one when I ran through the Arboretum but otherwise it was just use the Face Flask and heal back whatever health I had left. Most of my stuff had poison and slow boosting affixes. Thanks for the info!

I have a build suggestion, its not a powerful build, but i think it has a unique playstyle to it, its : Front line shield (up to you, really) Throwing knives Phaser Serenade (same slot as throwing knives) The idea is to let serenade tag the enemy while you throw knives at them, and then you grab serenade, phase to the enemy and smack them till they die or the crit ran out. I think this build is interesting because it lets you use a melee weapon, a ranged weapon, and also a shield. It also kinda gives throwing knives a purpose, because since dual binding was made custom only it kinda has no use other than acrobatipack, here you can get the bonus damage on bleeding affix on serenade and actually use the throwing knives to get the bleeding. Edit : scheme works! When you switch serenade to melee mode or vice versa, it gives you the scheme bonus. Also, phaser can be changed with something else.

This is the fastest I have ever seen something nerfed. Only two-three days after the update the flask already got nerfed and and it’s recovery mechanic completely removed. Still procs spite sword and vengeance.

Yes but it depends on what you modify before it locks trophies. I started running Custom after I unlocked a lot of the weapons/items because it was just bloat and making it super hard to get through the game on 3 BSC and higher. The game will let you know if you are about to do something that locks trophies so you won't get caught with your pants down, so to speak.
