Bangalore-based historian Dr. Vikram Sampath is the author of 8 acclaimed books of history including biographies of Gauhar Jaan & Veer Savarkar & Bravehearts of Bharat on unsung heroes of India.
This video is a breakdown of the Indian Freedom Struggle. The Indian independence movement was a series of historic events with the ultimate aim of ending British rule in India. It lasted from 1857 to 1947. Few leaders followed a more violent approach, than the others. This became especially popular after the Rowlatt Act, which permitted indefinite detention. The Act sparked protests across India, especially in the Punjab province, where they were violently suppressed in the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The Indian independence movement was in constant ideological evolution.

One thing people often confuse and here ranveer did too is the meaning of modern day hindutva. Hindutva is the resistance which kept the sanatan alived. Sure it wasn't called that in the past but in peace, you won't see people fighting or against other religion. Hell we produced different religions, but when our own existence is at risk, hindutva rises to save it. Modern times requires it and it will rise. What we have right now is just beginning, a mess before it organises itself. It has to, else we will be sitting here in skullcaps and cut dikks.

For kind attention of Vikram Sampath: There is a book in Marathi on one Waman Narayan Joshi, who was involved in assassination of Jackson, the then collector of Nashik. He was sent to Andaman for Kala Pani punishment, when Savarkar was also there. The book written by the niece of Joshi states that because of petitions written by Savarkar many prisoners were released from Kala Pani and sent to mainland jails.Joshi himself was sent to a jail in Mumbai province after 9 years due to petition written by Savarkar.

Veer Savakar was part of a Indian INA military strategy. Operation : SavaKar. He was working for my Grand Father Bhagwan Mepa CHITRODA. He was not imprisoned anywhere as all those jails during that time where either in my ancestral forts or Akadha Indian INA military training complexes. His move to Andaman Islands was a neutral meeting place where 007 styled operations where carried out as 007 is Indian Hindu Khumbar not western the adaptation within mi6 is comical. Please correct. It is Swatantra Veer Sawarkar. I have visited kaala pani cellular jail three times & put my neck on the noose of hang till death nearly 45 years ago. Wrote in the visitors book. It's a temple for every Indian to visit. I entered inside the anda jail where Veer Sawarkar stayed. Saw the inscriptions. Amazing. Today's gandhi's are only name sake. Chillar. In front of my building I stay everyday & see swatantra Veer Sawarkar Udyan & jog. It was inaugurated by Narendra Damodar Modi, when he was the C. M. of Gujarat. Every citizen of Borivali contributed to the garden & 11+ feet statue of VEER Sawarkar surrounded by waters of the lake reminding kaala pani. Please pardon today's gandhis for name sake. Awake INDIA.

Veer Savarkar employed the Sam-dam-dand-bhed neeti, like Shivaji Maharaj, to tackle the British and wrote mercy letters because he knew there was no use in remaining in jail and doing nothing. Only when he would come out of jail, could he contribute again to the Swatantrata Sangram.
