Love Vega. Bought the Showcase, nice to see you also put a lot of the same things I put in mine. Subbed, also loved your Moritte deck too

I immediately got an extra copy of Vega in addition to the precon copy, but I haven't sat down to finish it yet. I was playing psychosis crawler, chasm skulker, ominous seas, etc as wincons. Especially since a lot of flashback/jumpstart/escape cards in blue have to do with drawing cards already. And even though I don't like the dramatic reversal/isocron scepter combo, I think this is actually a deck it'd be cool in with a card-draw payoff out.

great card engine but where is wincon? And card advantage cant be counted :D, my playgroup would be mad if i assemble so huge card advantage but without the way to win i would sit there and still probably lose to somebody comboing out.

Hey nice deck tech seems like a great build! I recently put together a Vega deck and found I’ve put too much sorceries and creatures and also suspend can feel really slow. I know there’s some great suspend cards but which suspend cards would you say should most definitely go in the deck? I’m thinking about removing some and replacing them with instances to make the deck feel quicker for my build I put together. Thanks!

It might contribute to the dislike of Azorius that its three most played commanders are all staxy. Brago lets you ignore your own Winter/Static orbs Grand Arbiter Lavinia just wins if you Resolve Omen Machine or Knowledge Pool

Did you consider cipher and cascade? These abilities work well with Vega.
@Knightfall83 жыл бұрын
cipher should be avoided. cipher just puts a big target on your creature's back

I'm conflicted on decks like this. It seems like a ton of fun to play, but at the end of it all I can't help but ask "how will this deck win?". Sure, drawing cards is great, playing cards from all over is fun, and control can slow down our opponents... But how do you close out the game?

I built my Vega deck in a sort of storm kinda build, and using aetherflux as my main win con, but I also have Talrand and Metallurgic Summonings to make tokens

Eternal Scourge and Hollowmist Sphinx are great escape targets since they can cast themselves from exile.

Great video as usual. Ever think of doing gameplay videos. Love to see your decks in action.

i had though about it. this is sort of a new arena for me. what platforms do people typically use for that?

@@edhdeckbuilding Great question as I have absolutely no idea, unfortunately. "MTG Mudstah" and "I Hate Your Deck" and "Affinity For Commander" are all gameplay channels on YT that I enjoy watching and think make great gameplay content. Maybe see how they tackle filming and keeping track of things? Most of them just put a small camera over each player's board and then combine all four feeds somehow. Best of luck, man. I am also an "old school" player. My first set was Mirage, so I love seeing all the old cards you talk about on the channel. Cheers.

This deck looks like the Azorius version of Prosper. I wonder how well it would work for Pauper EDH.

Do morph cards trigger Vega's ability? I would assume they don't since they're already in the field and they're not being cast but I was wondering if anybody knew for sure.
@KungFoolFighting2 жыл бұрын
They do not, sadly, as with morph you are not actually casting the creature. Morph is a very strange ability. AFAIK it doesn't even use the stack.

Azorius is strong at removing threats but very bad at creating meaningful board presence so the games tend to be super grindy. And because there's three opponents with loads of life you don't get far like that. Not the best of time honestly. I used to play Ephara and drawing cards and answering a couple of things was practically all she did most games and not even that well 😅
