While killing foxes, seals, snakes etc. just for their skin to make fashion items is wrong, what exactly is wrong with wool? Wool comes from sheep and if you don’t shear sheep they overheat and die. I’ve literally seen it happen, we found an abandoned sheep that had been in the wild for some time and it’s wool was so long that it could hardly move and it was gasping for air. We took it back and sheared it and brought it back to health but it unfortunately died a month later due to an infection. Sheep need to be sheared

Anytime an animal is used for profit there is exploitation, the animal is treated like a commodity, a thing, and suffers. They’re often sheared painfully, and they’re killed.

And yes they’re bred to over produce wool and thus grow too much of it. Then the farmers/wool industry uses that to convince the public that it’s harmless and they need to be sheared. How convenient, and sinister, for those who profit off of them, then slaughter them when they’ve used them as much as they can.

The sheep’s wool is what’s paying for the food they eat, the fence that protects them from predators and the medication used to treat their diseases and infections. As I said, they NEED to be sheared otherwise they die. Why waste perfectly good wool? It’s a win-win situation for the sheep and humans and I doubt the sheep will care about being seen as a ‘commodity’ (even though it’s actually a trade-off). All they do is eat and sleep, as long as they get to do that then they are happy. The shearing isn’t necessary painful for sheep (though I’m not speaking for all farms), the farmers just try to do it quickly. What is your suggestion? We release the sheep into the wild they’ll die because no one will be able to shear them

The only reason why sheep "need" to be sheared is because they have been selectively and forcibly bred to have more skin which leads to more wool. They have been bred to overproduce wool so that they need to rely on human intervention. Animals in the wild do not need to be helped by humans generally, and their coat would shed or they would rub against trees and branches to get their fur or hair off themselves. It's not about "how" they are used, it's *that* they are used.

The reason we even have to shear sheep so much is because we've messed with their natural breeding. Shearers get paid by how much they shear, not how well they do it, leading to rough handling. These sheep don't even get to live out their full lives. Also, practices like Mulesing and tail docking are painful and often done without anesthesia. And people who care about the environment, avoid wool because of land degradation, water usage, and methane emissions from sheep.

@@carolyncarnahan960wool seems to be harmless like milk is thought to be harmless. Neither industries are harmless though. Firstly lambs get their tails cut off without anaesthetics, that’s because sheep farmers have hundreds or thousands of sheep and they can’t look after them properly and they cut their tails to avoid a disease called fly strike. Then there’s the shearing, shearing is a skilled and difficult job, and the shearers get per every 100 sheep they share, so the fastest they do it the better for them. But not for the sheep, as the sheep are mishandled and suffer several cuts. Sheep don’t have good wool forever, eventually their wool is not deemed of high quality to make profit and the sheep are killed. Also I don’t really understand why, but I live in the countryside in a country that has 5 times more sheep than has humans! So I see a lot of sheep farms, and now it’s winter for us, and it’s really cold overnight and in the mornings, around -3 to 3 degrees max at night (all through winter), and in some of the farms the sheep have been recently sheared, which is terribly cruel. In industries where animals are treated as commodities, you bet there’s something wrong about that industry.

How do you assess that? She’s antagonises people. Even if that’s the truth she’s saying according to vegans, she’s not a successful example of converting people. She directly ruins people’s days or even sometimes lives like when that restaurant owner’s gf left the owner because of all the attention he was getting due to her vegan raid on his restaurant and him kicking her out and going on news. She has many devoted followers but she’s also got people who won’t go vegan due to her acts. Her approach over the years has been antagonising meat eaters against vegans.

I am a vegan but I fee like conversations and educating people is a way better approach to convey your point than to burst into stores and scream because that way people would have negative opinions about veganism that they are really violent or insane or something plus unfortunately you also give great content to non vegans so I feel like this approach is not helping anyone, because no one will hear you and will come to a realization point that oh yeah actually, you are right. People would hear you and think that well she is causing disturbance and is no less than a karen, I am extremely sorry if i come off as rude but I just don't want people to think bad about vegan community thats why I like earthling ed, joey carbstrong etc people's approach better. So i did the quick math. There are 8.8 billion ppl on earth. Only 88 million ppl are reported to be vegan on earth. According to a pole, 84% percent of vegans quit the movement. I will be nice and say 70%(7 out of 10) of vegans quit the movement. That is a number of 62 million ex/anti vegans, and 28 million still vegans. 🤣🤣🤣. Welcome to an ex/anti vegan world.

Sleepy Copenhagen, poor time choice - very few people around. Nice turnout, but we had maybe quadruple on the London fur and leather runs in the '90's. Tash, my vegan activist of 2023, was brilliant as always with what she had to work with, but there just aren't enough people prepared to get on the streets for this type of action these days. It's good of you to talk it up, however this only really works on YT and socials. With this amount of ppl you really need a stunt in front of the shop such as 'blood' poured over ppl wearing old fur coats and the local press invited - à la Peta.
