Vegan at Zizzi’s - NOT what I expected

We went to Zizzi's a couple of months ago for the first time. We enjoyed what we had. I had the Bruschetta and rainbow lasagne and my boyfriend had the Risotto. We're going again this Wednesday with friends so fingers firmly crossed it's not bad the second time around 🤞😬

I hear good things from others so I am going to try again at one closer to home - as I really do like their home cook pizza a lot!

I've tried the meatless meatballs at High Wycombe Zizzi's, actually I had them as a main course with courgette fries and this made a reasonably nice little meal, my only criticism would be that the meatballs were a wee bit too salty. I think the whole cooking/re-heating at Zizzi's is often a problem and might be why some items are a bit hard. I don't like having stickers stuck on the side of my dish.

I think that’s a fair review! It is hard for chains, but it’s great they are rolling out vegan option Also love your comments re the stickers 🤣

I’ve eaten at Zizzi’s a few times as a vegan and have always been pretty impressed. Had the meatballs once and they were lovely, not hard at all and they were hot. I usually have pizza and that’s always very nice. I recommend that you give them another try, maybe go to a different branch. It’s so disappointing isn’t it when you’re really hungry and looking forward to trying out a new restaurant but the food turns out to be a bit rubbish

YVFE you need a new chef! We went to Zizzi's in Bournemouth tonight. We and a non vegan guest had the meatballs and they were moist, HOT and really tasty. The non vegan was astonished there was no meat in them. I then had the pizza you had. It was thin crispy, not saggy and super tasty. We will all go back and please do not be put off....your chef needs retraining, not your taste buds.

@@YourVeganFoodExplorer that's super. Thanks for replying, we have to stick together and support any restaurant that makes the effort to provide a vegan menu. We went to an Italian restaurant for a birthday recently and there were no vegan options on the menu. The chef came to our table and said he could veganise any dish.....OK.....SO TELL PEOPLE! anyway that's my rant. Keep doing what you're doing, giving vegan and non- vegans information on what's out there. 🤜🤛

I guess they had all the trainee chefs in that day, very unfortunate Zizi is normally much better quality

Sounds like a problem with the chef. I had an excellent experience a few years ago..
