I'm Japanese.There's a vegan fruit sandwich shop in Asakusa Tokyo(kaminarimon).Their cream is made from soy milk and taste so good!!! If you have a chance to go Asakusa,pls try it😊

Great video idea iNok! I am not vegan but some of these places look interesting! The vegan curry especially looked delicious. I didn't know there were vegan restaurants in Tokyo, are they more catered to tourists or are more Japanese locals becoming vegan?

I think it's more like both, tourists and Japanese, but most of Japanese are not vegan so their targets are ... it's difficult to answer for me😅

I live close to a large city and there's a whole district full of vegan restaurants! 😊 Do they offer plant based meat in Japanese Convenience stores as well? And I noticed a lot of English descriptions, is that because these vegan restaurants cater to a more western audience or are regular Japanese restaurants the same?

Wow, your city is very friendly for vegan people!! That's amazing!! I'm not too sure we can have vegan food in convenience stores, we might have some but not much I guess. Targets of customers are I guess non Japanese people because only few numbers Japanese people are vegan so the shop very welcomes western audiences!!

@@foodinjapan2256 Thank you so much for the reply! Yes Germany is very vegan friendly but our traditional cuisine sadly isn't (meat is in almost every dish). That's a shame but understandable, if not many people are buying these products, it makes no sense to sell them in most places, I get it. So it's amazing that you were able to find these vegan hotspots that I'll certainly enjoy if I visit 😊
