There are different types of gumbo. You don't need okra in traditional gumbo. You must always make a rue , bay leaves and filè for seasoning 🎉🎉🎉 I'm from St. James Parish, LA....a country gal ❤

Not everybody adds okra to their gumbo. My family doesn't. And we're Creole. So this is really dependent on the family. I personally feel okra would have ruined this dish.

Real traditional creole has okra, and only some can do it right. I get why some people are scared to add it
