The main ingredient of zaatar is thyme; not the French one, but a special Middle Eastern variety. The food all looks amazing, but the manaquish is what I was dying to hear the review of. I have a serious zaatar-on-bread addiction, I think. I know. Enjoyed this review; ThanksForPosting : )

That flatbread looks so G😳😍D!!! The moment it, and those roasted brussel sprouts appeared on screen, I got hunger pangs! 😫 i know i would inhale it all!! The last time i ate any Lebanese food, was in my pre-vegan days back in the mid-2000s, was at a small chain of restaurants here in los angeles proper called " Zankou Chicken ". I had the chicken shawarma combo plate. The chicken itself was...okay, but the SIDES were the stars of the combo meal! Hummus/basmati rice/tahini salad/Mutabbal/and their " secret " garlic spread, ALL made fresh, and in-house. Their freshly made, warm Pita bread. My GAAAAWD!! The BEST!!! We ordered a stack of them it was about 10 inches high. I think i ate (inhaled) half of that warm tender stack of pita bread. For myself, much like fresh baked bread, corn, or flour tortillas, and bagels, they always seems to taste better when it isn't mass produced, freshly baked it always best. If and when i ever find myself at a Zankou, I will simply order all the sides that are vegan.

Honestly your hair in the beginning of this vid is part of my queer girl hairstyle goals. Like for real. One of my gay yoga teachers has it that way when she didn’t put it up in the bun and I think it makes any girl look sooooo cute. I’m sometimes sad thinking about all the food I can’t eat from my childhood though now that I’m vegan
@bodegacatx4 жыл бұрын
Dont be sad! Im sure you can veganize most of it!
@aliameth43864 жыл бұрын
@@bodegacatx thank you. I appreciate that. Yesterday just made me depressed and I guess everything was impossible or sad until I saw a video about a cat hotel in Japan. Anyway, yeah there are some things that I realize are probably easier to veganize like latkes and matzah ball soup. It’ll taste a lil’ diff I’m sure because I’m not a great cook yet and haven’t fiddled around with large recipes yet but I really need to begin to do that shit. If I felt comfortable asking people within the family of origin to try and get close to their old recipes with vegan replacers it probably wouldn’t be so bad but we don’t talk much

Genuinely curious, why do you drive in nyc considering how much of a hassle it is (and also the environmental effects)? Asking from the perspective of someone planning to go into the transportation field. I’m not sure if you’ve just started doing this since covid bc I only followed a few months ago. Btw I’m not vegan but I love your content (esp when you show Lebanese food cuz I’m also Lebanese!)
@bodegacatx4 жыл бұрын
No problem! Ill explain. If im going to Manhattan, 100% take the subway because there is a station every 10-15 blocks. But, in certain parts of Brooklyn, the subway just doesn't reach. So its best to take a car. If you dont have a car, you can take the bus but the busses are less reliable, you wait up to an hour for one, and it can turn a 30m trip to a 2 hour one. Hope this explains!
