Hi friends, the last few weeks have been heavy and intense but also transformative. I regret not having used my platform earlier to talk about these human rights issues, but I want to be very clear that going forward, I will never be silent when it comes to injustice and inequality. We all have a role to play in the movement for racial justice, and I hope you find some of the resources in the description box helpful. Sending love and hope to all of you.

YES I agree with you on the website! I mentioned this in the video that we are working on updating my website...basically, I need to have the whole website migrated to a more friendly platform like Wordpress because the current platform I use does not make it easy to include those kinds of buttons. So I apologize but it I am working on it! In the meantime, you can select ctrl + P to print the whole page but then use the print preview to select the page numbers that have the recipe. I know it's not ideal, but I hope to have a much more user-friendly site in the next few months! And I am glad you enjoyed the video, Catherine!

Quick question - why do you need to press the tofu (i've not cooked with it much but want to add it more into my cooking) ? Loving your video and channel, thank you for these, really easy to follow.
@RainbowPlantLife4 жыл бұрын
Hi Suzi, tofu is very watery, so pressing helps to remove a lot of that water. If you don't press tofu and then try to bake/saute/grill it, the texture won't be very good and it'll have a hard time absorbing the other flavors.

Do you have any advice on someone starting a vegan diet? I’ve tried it before but experienced hair loss. Do you know of any supplements that can help with that. Love your channel!
@RainbowPlantLife4 жыл бұрын
Hi Gloria! I shared this video a few years ago on starting a vegan diet and mistakes to avoid: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXvbnJt9rdSDh6s I also share what supplements I take in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hImVn31nqMR3o68 I have never personally experienced hair loss but from what I have read, a well-balanced vegan diet contains all of the vitamins and minerals that are help with hair growth, such as iron, zinc, protein, and biotin. I try to eat a wide variety of plant based foods to ensure I get enough of these nutrients. As I mention in the second video, it's virtually impossible to get vitamin B 12 on a vegan diet so I take a supplement for that.
@gloriamaldonado10584 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I will watch now :)
@carrieanneatreides62404 жыл бұрын
If I may: Zinc and B-12 are great supplements. Also, our bodies absorb and process nutrients differently. I stayed anemic when I ate lots of dairy, for example, because it seemed to interfere with all the iron I was eating. Now, back to the hair issue. Zinc is mineral that builds and regenerates our bodies. Sometimes being too low carb will interfere. Zinc deficiency can cause skin issues, digestive issues, etc. Are you eating legumes? Whole grains? Those are outstanding for zinc. You only need about 10mg a day, depending on your age and reproductive health. Miso, figs, tofu, nut seeds, pumpkin seeds, spinach, mushrooms, sesame seeds, and dark chocolate (!) are great. Don't be afraid of carbs; we need healthy carbohydrates. Don't let your fat percentage dip too low, either. 20% is about the lowest ANYONE should go for fat percentage in diet. So, take away is eat a well-rounded diet with variety. Throw some wheat germ/flax into your smoothies. Eat carbs. Take a good supplement. I send lots and lots of love and hugs!!!!!
