I have had multiple people call me out for eating meat when i spoke out about animals rights and how poorly we treat them. I have chronic illness and need to eat meat or else I would be on copious amounts of supplements and have bad quality of life overall. These people don't know that there is a difference between harm reduction and complete abstininence from anything harmful ever. It's okay and in the right to preach about things that are wrong, but you don't get to assume the morals of the person if they won't see it in their lifestyle, There are other people in the world WHO CARE but being forceful/judgemental is definitely not the way to go about it. My cousin and his wife were vegan and she had multiple miscarriages and a stillbirth because she wasn’t getting enough nutrients for both her and her fetus. They shifted to vegetarian diet and now they have a beautiful healthy boy named Gideon that is almost 2. We are not biologically designed to eat only protein derived from plants.

I had to go vegan 11 years ago due to health issues (allergic to dairy and hormones in meat). This vegan teacher is exactly why I hate telling new people I can't have things because I'm vegan. Most people think of her or people like her and immediately harass me. I've had people purposely mess with my meals because they were upset. I just want to exist, not deal with people like her. My best friend is vegan and I'm not. She's never made it my problem that I eat meat. Sure, we'll tease each other, but within reason and the boundaries we have in place.
