I grew up a meat-loving carnivore but lately I can't stand anything about meat, especially the knowledge of consuming something that used to be a breathing, living thing with legs and a face. Now I go for the vegan "meats" that taste so much better than real meats ever did, and my body feels a lot better now too without all the toxic animal chunks rotting away in it. Plus I've lost a little weight already.

Im a short guy so it is terribly hard to find clothing now but i guess thats a good problem lol. What you eat is the most important thing you can do for yourself. My only regret was that i didnt do it sooner and while i was in my 20s haha.

My wife is not on board yet but definitely could use this program so I have to do this on my own. Started this time at 265 lbs. I am lazy so I am blending my fruits and vegetables. I started doing this 3 times a day but now I am down to twice a day. I am doing this for health reasons. I am a new diabetic, have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, 3rd stage kidney failure, irregular heartbeat, fatty liver. My doctor has recommended stanton for high cholesterol and glipizides for high blood sugar. so I am hoping to reverse some or all of these conditions. I was shooting for may 220 but you look amazing at 180. I was 185 when i graduated from high school but by the end of my freshman year was 235 because of a milk machine an beer. Have never lost any of it since then. My highest was 280. Wish me luck.

Thank you so much for sharing your inspirational stories. I have Volleyed back and forth about being vegan over the years. More specifically because of the animal cruelty. However January 30th of this month I was told I had an a1c of 13. That really floored me and made me take a serious look at my health and what I could do about it aside from medicating myself which I did not want to do. I Have a special needs child who is 16 and relies on me for all of his care. I decided that I cannot afford in any way shape or form to be diabetic and of course to continue to increase my health risks of all sorts of disease. So I decided once and for all to go vegan. So far I have lost 24 lbs. But more importantly I feel so much better!! I was having serious bouts of gastroparesis which has subsided and I have not experienced anymore since I changed my diet. I have cleaned out my pantry and replaced it with everything I need to keep myself on the straight and narrow and so I have what I need at my disposal to make recipes. I have found that I do not miss meat at all. Actually what has been harder is the dairy. I have never drank milk but I do like creamer yogurt and sometimes cheese. So I am experimenting with the dairy free products and am thinking about trying to make my own cheese. I do not mean to this comment to become so long here it is. Thanks again I wish you continued Health on your Journeys.

In the last 11days I decided to go plant based life style. I love it, for the first time I felt I can truly eat good carbs. Rice, veg, beans and potatoes makes me feel full! I dont binge or overeat as much anymore. Lost 5-6lbs in 11days too! Way to live, more happier inside. 🙏😘

DIY Couple, ya'll are super awesome and encouraging! I know exactly how you used to feel and I'm on a journey to be healthy. I just lost 20 lp in 1 month. The only thing i did was quit junk food. This includes candy, soda, pizza, potato chips, fast food, energy drinks, etc. I really love bread and diary so i decided to quit those too. To replace the junk food, I ate kale, spinach, olive oil, coconut oil, fruits, and once a week home baked potato. To replace the creamer in my coffee, I had KetoCreamer (which was really great). I did have yogurt once a week. I did have a serving of a desert 1 time a week on weekends. Now that I'm entering my second month, I realize that I need to eat more protein. Way back when i was in college, I was working out an hour a day and eating really healthy salads with a side of meat. Due to fatigue, my metabolism collapsed and I just started eating everything bad- consequently I gained 100 lb. Looking back now I realize I wasn't eating enough protein. I over worked my muscles and didn't feed them right. Now, I'm considering becoming a vegan and looking at veggies high in protein. I want to be healthier than i was in college! And i want to be this healthy for life!

I just turned 32 this month. I have had thyroid problems for several years and started on some medication after many years of refusing it and trying to cure myself naturally (I was a keto and paleo fanatic for life 😩). Now I am off the thyroid medication because of heart symptoms, ended up in ER with horrific heart palps, extensive testing at cardiologist, and diagnosed with heart failure, prescribed 2 more medications. But I am not taking them. I refuse to live my life on pharmaceuticals and with side effects that pile up as I get sicker and sicker. I switched to vegan wfpb diet 2 weeks ago, celery juice every morning, and I am already seeing great results! My horrendous joint pain and stiffness is GONE!!! My stomach pain and excruciating IBS i have had since age 6 (yes 6!) is gone! I am hoping to also see great results with my heart. I want complete healing and your comment gave me hope.

I’ve been asked if I was pregnant sooo many times? Sometimes I just say yes and lie. They are just strangers. It’s easier than saying no and dealing with that extremely awkward situation

this is so inspiring, thank you so much for sharing! someone recommended i listen to your story, and i'm so grateful i did, my biggest struggle is not really having any other support or help to do this journey (doing this solo), and not knowing how to prep/maintain the healthy meal plans. i am very interested in this healthy and nutritional eating/way of life, and would LOVE love love to have it be a part of my regular lifestyle to prep/eat healthy natural meals, but again... doing this myself, and overwhelmed by knowing how/where to start with making those meals... any helpful ideas or supportive tips? :)

Thanks for sharing your story's! I recently started on a plant based diet and I'm already experiencing the difference in how I feel and I'm beginning to loose weight.

Do you need to count calories? I am plant based as well for 4 years now and still trying to drop weight. I am lifting weights and doing cardio. My doctor suggested i cut calories down to 1300 a day. So far i have lost 15lbs and still trying to drop another 20 pounds. Do you guys use portion cups or count calories? You guys look great! 💪👍💪

Good for you both! You both look awesome! My wife and I are in the same boat only needing to lose just about 1/3rd of what you guys did. I've lost 25lbs with maybe 10 more to go, my wife has about the same but honestly even 20 will be perfect for her as she is only about 140lbs now. I'm now in the phase of folding in exercise.

y'all are amazing!! love your vibe. love your story. love your honesty. my favorite vids so far are the weekly prep vids. this is going to be the key for me. maybe do one on kitchen appliances? I just bought a high powered blender that will get the stuff hot inside if I want to make a nut-based cheese sauce. looking forward to using my insta pot too.

Well done! Husband & I are staying on track with our wellness goals too. We did struggle with our weight at first a few years into our marriage due to stress & environmental factors. Now, we live with a more growth mindset and champion-like fighting spirit every single day. In fact, we are in our early 40s, but we have more energy and endurance level than our twenty or thirty something couple friends and family. Amazing how life is a lot (lovely) and so with so much purpose. to

Thank you for sharing your journey! It is extremely helpful to me and I'm sure to others, I was never over weight until I was a senior in high school I had extra +10 lbs. First year in collage I gained 40lbs, it was literally over 1st semester, it was HORRIBLE! I continued to gain 5lbs a year for the next 8 years, I made it to 238 same weight as Mike Tyson heavy weight champ, nothing champ about my weight. I was infertile (PCOS) unhappy and low energy no stamina. I had a gastric bypass at age 27 lost 103lbs I felt great and looked great, I gave birth to two wonderful children and I had gained back 30 lbs in 6 years, again same rate 5 lbs a year, I decided to get fit again, work out 5 days a week for 1 hour a day and cut out dairy, bread and sugar it worked, I had lost 40lbs and put on a lot of muscle, looked like a superhero, i felt great only lasted 3 years. Now I have gained back 45 lbs in last 7 years. I will read both books you used and implement your healthy lifestyle I'm now 44.5 and I don't want health issues, I will finally do this correctly, no surgery no over exercising something sustainable and healthy. Thanks a Million!!!

It's expensive losing so much weight, a whole new wardrobe, I know I did it with a plant based life. You both look really great. Be very proud of yourselves, be and stay healthy. Get some yoga in your life now and at least 2 children! Namaste.

Thanks That DIY Couple for sharing this. You have both been transformed and now have a new lease of life which is fantastic. I have been vegan for nearly seven years and i am at my healthiest ever. I was 50 when i went vegetarian and 56 when i went vegan for the animals not knowing i would feel this great. No more Asthma which i had for over 25 years and taking inhalers and no more IBS problems. My immunity is so much stronger and energy levels have increased. Doctors have very little training in food nutrition and out of ignorance and supporting the pharma industry they are over prescribing drugs which are a quick fix for most health issues which can be treated and even cured with a plant based diet. Drugs are poisons and are not the answer as they all have side effects and are unnatural and addictive which can lead to many health problems. Plants have the power to heal and cure and as the old saying goes.....let food be our medicine and medicine be our food....natural plant foods that is.....

Thank You both, so very much for sharing your stories 🤗 I totally understand how hurtful and hard it’s been, it’s only been 2 weeks since I’ve started making healthy eating changes and I’m 52 yrs young. I have gotten just so tired of being tired, depressed and over weight... just everyday feeling like Crap!! and all the health issues I suffer, i’m at my highest weight I’ve ever been and wear a size 20 pants..so I can totally relate!! the past 2 weeks I have slowly gotten better with what I eat and how I cook, and have cut out unhealthy foods and snacks, and am on the road to taking far better care of myself!!! I have aways to go but with Jesus by my side, I’m pushing forward and will make it through,New Year-New Mindset-New lifestyle!!! I pray the best for you both, Jesus Loves you❤️and thanks again for sharing your stories
