VEGAS Pro 21 - NEW Mocha VEGAS plugin! How to EASILY do Advanced Planar Tracking! 👨‍🏫

Hey Scrappers! Josh here with another VEGAS Pro 21 tutorial and in this one I'll be going over the new Mocha Vegas plugin that comes in VEGAS Pro 21! This plugin allows you to perform hyper-accurate tracking which included Planar Tracking and seamlessly export your tracking data to other VEGAS Pro plugins like Bezier Mask or Picture-in-Picture.

thinking about buying vegas pro post 21. thanks for the tutorial! i think some features are really worth it. i feel like vegas is so niche/nerdy when it comes to "finding the right way to do things". other programs are rlly simple but vegas gives you a little challenge and wants you to think more haha

Usually when you purchase a version, you are eligible for a free upgrade depending on how long ago you purchased. I'd email VEGAS Support and see if they can give you a upgrade key.

Yes you'll be able to do that with Z-Depth or Smart Mask. Both new effects are still in their infancy stages and are a little rough around the edges but can do the trick in a pinch.

Hello Drummer (don't know if you remember me, what about this vdrums ? ;-) ) Thanks a lot for your tutorials on 21 ! i have internet issue, and i'm 99% of my time offline since 5/6 months, and just discovered by upgrading to 21 that there is no more manual lol (i was on vegas pro 19)... or even the small one included as text search... so your tutorials released the day of the release are very cool !! searching if you did something on smart mask ;) ! all the best !

I havn't seen you reply to anyone in 7 months but i will give it a try anyway. I'm using Vegas Pro 20 and I have BCC Primatte Studio Plugin from which i can Launch mocha version 9.5.5. My question: Is the Mocha pro plugin for Vegas pro 21 much better than the Mocha Continuum version 9.9.5 Nov. 17, 2022 via the Primatte Studio Plug in. If so i will update to Vegas Pro Suite which is required now to get the Moch Pro Plugin. PLease reply. Mocha Continuum does not allow you to export data, shapes or avi's only mocha Projects.

Does the plug-in has the option to remove a tracked object like Mocha pro or is it only object tracking?

With a little work, yes you can remove tracked objects

Looks like they changed Plugin name to BCC Primate Studio :-) then select edge cleaner, outside mask shape - Mocha Mask then you can select Outside Mask Launch Mocha!

Not naturally in VEGAS. You can export tracking data from Mocha to Blender or something like that, apply it to 3D text, then export that text from Blender and import it into VEGAS.

Is mocha available without paying for the plugin? I know in the past they've advertised included plugins but then have to pay extra.

Mocha is included in the 'Suite' and 'Post' versions of VEGAS 21. It's not included in any other version.

@@ScrapyardFilms You should put that in your description notes at the top. The most f'd up thing about Vegas now (I'm a user 20 years +) is the confusion of the features included, especially with subscription 365 vs. purchase.

@@zdogg8 Mocha Continuum can be accessed from inside Boris Fx Primatte Studio Vegas plugin just go down to Outside Mask shape: set it to Mocha Mask then just below that the Launch Mocha will be available. One big difference between the Mocha Continuum vegas plugin and the Mocha Pro vegas plugin is the ability to export out as data or shape. I would guess Mocha in Hitfilm would not allow exporting data and shapes only Mocha projects.

Not that I'm aware of. You need Mocha Pro to do proper 3d environment tracking and then attach text inside of that program and then export that as a clip.
