I didn't understand why they wouldn't want to blow up the ship, and just risk reviving Buu. It's clear at this point that Buu doesn't have anywhere near enough energy, so he'd be a lot weaker as a result and would likely be more easily killed. And I'm not saying that because he gets revived thanks to Vegeta, but because I honestly kinda agree with Vegeta on this one that blowing up the ship would have been faster and worth the risk. What threat was Buu going to be with only a portion of energy.

I think the issue is that Supreme Kai assumed that Buu was so strong that he would be able to beat Goku and Vegeta even with less than full power. It's kind of ironic because Babidi was afraid that they WOULD release Buu prematurely which is part of why he kept sending them to other places to fight. But yeah they would be better off blowing up the ship.

Something I really appreciate about this scene is Vegeta was right 100% about Gohan’s performance as a warrior and about destroying the ship. But even more importantly, he was right about survival of the fittest. If we think about it from his perspective, strength was what defined his ability to live over twenty years of his life being Frieza’s attack dog, and in order to live that kind of life, he had to be ruthless and remorseless. Allowing an enemy to live simply to continue fighting is not how a warrior should operate. In Vegeta’s mind, the cancer needs to be removed at the source, otherwise it’ll just keep coming back.

But Vegeta's only alive because Goku asked Krillin to spare him in their first battle and later because they revived him with the dragon balls. Just about every time enemies were shown mercy it's paid off in a major way. Piccolo, Vegeta, and the androids were all Goku's enemies bent on killing him that ended up being crucial allies who have saved not only Goku's life but the entire world, galaxy and the universe on multiple occasions. Not to mention Mr.Satan --an utter weakling (compared to any Z fighter) who Vegeta chastised Goku for saving --turned out to be sole reason Goku was able to gather enough energy for the spirit bomb to defeat Kid Buu. Vegeta's no-mercy, survival-of-the-fittest perspective is understandable given his history, but it's a short-sighted narrow way of thinking.

He knew Dabura was much stronger than him and was personally guarding Babidi at all times, and *didn't* know that the 3 Saiyans were stronger than Dabura (well, maybe not Gohan, but you get the point). Any plan to kill Babidi would have to go through Dabura, and at the time he didnt know that would be a thing they could actually do

No he was really angry because he wanted to fight Goku so bad and it got delayed for this, but once Babadi started to possess him he realized this was the only way he was going to get what he wanted so he let it happen. I don't think he was intentionally trying to get possessed but once it started he didnt stop it.
