@@RiODGAF I assume you're referring to the "What If..." episode. Couple things: (1) Thor was mortal at the time he was killed by Yellow Jacket; Odin had stripped Thor of his powers and banished him to Earth, so at the time he was as vulnerable as any mortal man. (2) "What If..." is based off the MCU. Characters in the MCU are generally *much* weaker than their counterparts in the *main* Marvel Universe that is the comics (Earth-616). Essentially, anything that a character in the MCU can do, their main universe inspiration can do and MUCH more. (3) Death Battle prioritizes the *source material* unless they are examining a particular alternate version of a character, like with the Flash vs Sonic episode (to be fair, this hasn't always been the case with DB). That said, they pitted Vegeta against the original Thor from the comics, not the movies. And comic Thor, as shown in the analysis section of the episode, has some simply *broken* feats that Vegeta just can't compete with. Hell, if they'd *really* wanted this to be a stomp, they'd have given Thor the Odinforce (which he canonically possess).

Hes fast, but in DC universe, hes not faster then flash. He moves at 770 (according to death match logic in their extras) mph. Thats a half faster then the average commercial plane. Its MCU vs DB. Death Battle doesn't take characters at their weakest, Death Battle takes characters at their strongest. So for example, they wouldn't use Goku getting hurt by a regular bullet, or killed by a common Frieza force ray gun, as a durability feat for Goku. So... yes, Thor was killed by his sister, but he has higher feats of durability than that, so Death Battle uses those. The issue with comics is that there is no consistent timeline. Different writers take the characters and write different stories, and power scale the characters to suit the story they are trying to tell. In some comics, superman can barely lift the statue of liberty. In others, superman can lift a book with an infinite amount of pages. It isn't like Dragon Ball which has one consistent writer and timeline. Comics have a 50 year headstart when it comes to random writers giving these characters ridiculous feats, like "moving within plank time", the smallest amount of time the laws of physics allows. So, comics are suited to the Death Battle format, where they get the highest feats mixed from every incarnation of the character.

As a huge vegeta fan this one hurt, but I know death battle tries to take the strongest versions of their characters and sadly the strongest version of Thor is just flat out broken. Comics don't really make characters balanced when their on their strong arcs. So thor can get all sorts of OP powers that DBZ doesn't really compare with. I remember there being one story where Thor literally just wills a bunch of ancient god like entities out of existence.

I just thought of an alternate ending. Before Mjolnir came from the water, Vegeta pulls the cuffs on Thor again to stop him just for a second, to then basically switch places and make Thor take the hammer straight to the face. Someone might correct me on how this might not happen or something, but whatever, it's just an idea I thought for Vegeta to win.

Animation takes creative liberties. And the lowballed Thor with the world tree feat; The Tree holds infinite worlds, and Thor outmuscled it. Thor held the weight of 2 planets with 1 arm once as well. In terms of physicsl strength nothing Vegeta can do, would tie Thor down.

Thor: can travel the Marvel comic universe in 5 seconds, and can move up to 593 quadrillion times the speed of light, can move an *INFINITE AMOUNT OF UNIVERSE AT ONCE*, shoot a blast that can kill a being that causes multiversal destruction as a side effect of his attacks, can ABSORB ENERGY which means he can just absorb Vageta's energy attacks, and can just will the energy out of people.
