Yuya Takahashi would’ve been a literal child while this was originally airing haha he’s still in his 30s. This particular episode was supervised by Keisuke Masunaga. He’s known for being a heavy corrector, so the whole episode is his artstyle. Now while I don’t know who animated every scene in particular, Masaaki Iwane did animate the ghost fighting Gohan - which was then corrected by Masunaga.

King yema knew Buu was difficult to defeat plus the amount of souls/paperwork he had to deem worthy of hell or heaven was too much because Buu killed everyone on earth so he had to bring Vegeta's body back and get ready to go to back to earth also Goku got lucky elder Kai gave his life to him so that he can fight Buu with his son and Vegeta also king Yema needs to get a lot of credit in This season because of what he did in restoring Vegeta's body and elder Kai giving Goku the potara earrings we got vegito

The potara earring fusion does feel very much like an asspull however. I think Toriyama wrote himself into a corner with that one. He knew that the fusion dance wouldn't work because Buu is way too smart to just stand there and let Goku and Gohan fuse. So he had to pull out an alternate fusion technique from nowhere to work around it.

Major credit to Gohan. (15:40) He knew he was barely staying in the fight and knew he would get slammed. Waited for it. Took the hit. Then tried to get buutenks with a sucker blast from under the rocks. That's when you know you are losing but you still play to win. Always the underdog from day 1 but never giving up. The funny thing about Madison saying Potara fusion is too convenient, because Toriyama has stated in one of his interviews that when he first introduced the higher-level Kais he didn't have any plans for the earrings(they wore) at first, they were just jewelry, it was only later on that he thought about them fusing people.

Can we also take a moment to appreciate Shin's humility in this scene, acknowledging his errors with regards to Buu and understanding his own limitations, knowing that, despite being a Kai, he simply doesn't the power to contend against Buu and has to rely on mortal help, entrusting in Gohan, and now Goku, in defeating a foe he spent years trying to fight and failing, even to sacrifice his own life. It is the polar opposite to Freiza's arrogance who, despite being overpowered by Goku, still believe to be the strongest in the universe.

As a kid I hated the way they treated Gohan in this fight especially with the psychological mind games, but this fight really showed that Gohan is not a true fighter like his father, Goku would have eventually found a way around this even if he was weaker or outclassed he would’ve came up with a strategy while Gohan has no strategy he just keeps blindly attacking straight forward

This scene 11:03 really shows a lot in regards to Majin Buu. And yet a lot of people seem to not understand the dynamic of what's going on. *(Spoiler talk)* In the end there was Kid Buu who is the original Majin Buu. When he absorbed the Grand Supreme Kai "Dai Kaio" his purity gave birth to Fat Buu which was the birth of a new sentience.... He was essentially metaphorically speaking a completely different being in regards to how different he was from Kid Buu. But until Fat Buu got angry he released all the evil from him and Evil Buu came out. Then when the evil Buu absorbed Fat Buu who was, that gave birth to Super Buu who was essentially the evil who was dominant over the good. And I use the phrase "dominant over the good" for a reason 11:03 if you watch this scene you can clearly see there is still good in him. Now here is where we getting too controversial territory that everyone keeps questioning. So Vegeta eventually severs fat Buu from Super Buu, and he reverts back to Kid Buu instead of Evil Buu. Why you may ask? Will you have to remember back that Evil Buu is the evil side of "Fat Buu" but now Super Buu lacks the Fat Buu Component, Therefore he is changing back to what he originally was. Think of Majin Buu like "water" if you mix water with paint or other materials soon it will be so diluted that it won't resemble anything of what it was before. But if you remove the substances it's mixed with.... Kid Buu is water in its original form. He was the evil that was always lurking inside Fat Buu and Super Buu this whole time.

Kudos to anyone who realizes that Piccolo, with his epic hearing, was the only one during the cell games to be able to hear what Cell and Gohan were saying during their final beam struggle. "One last move, and it's game over..." To piss Gohan off even more, Buu quoted Cell to provoke his power, because at his core Gohan's mentor is still in there. Even during the fight, Piccolo is trying to help Gohan defeat Buu.

Regarding the ring attack used by Gotenks and later Super Buu, I always heard it called "Cosmic Halo" until I watched Dragon Ball Z Kai. I guess that's just one of those things they decided to change in the dub of Z. Personally I don't mind either name, but I do admit "Galactic Donut" does sound more like a name kids as young as Goten and Trunks would come up with lol.

15:02 It is not Toriyama's style but the Japanese mindset, they are influenced by Taoism and Buddhism which have a "circular" and "balancing" perspective. There's no evil, just people who make bad choices, there's no good people, just people trying their best. That is why Japanese anime wont leave you on the extremes, it will always keep you in circles. So when you watch a sad moment in anime expect a happy moment to come and viceversa.

If you're talking about Yuya Takahashi, he never worked on the Dragon Ball Z series. He did work on the later DBZ movies that eventually became Dragon Ball Super (Battle of Gods and Resurrection F). I think he was a bit too young to work on the DBZ series but as far as Dragon Ball Super goes, Takahashi is the GOAT for sure!

ON SECOND THOUGHT, IDK FOR SURE IF MADISON READS COMMENTS OR NOT, SO SPOILERS AHEAD Guys, just for future reference (I know Madison doesn’t read the comments so I’m not worried about spoilers if you aren’t at kid buu yet) but kid buu , even tho it seems to be buus final form, isn’t as strong as this buu or buhan. It’s a misconception cause it’s seen as his final form, but it’s actually his original form from the beginning. It’s kinda cool when you think about it, cause majin buu acts like a child, but when you see his original form, he literally is in a child’s body lol. It makes sense that the only way to slow him down was to use his absorption technique against him, and have him absorb the fat kai to mellow him out. I love how we see how destructive original buu really is

Imo Elder Kai is seriously the MVP of this entire saga. Of all the mess ups and poor decisions our characters throughout this saga Elder Kai making all the right decisions and giving everyone the advantage to fight Buu even if the advantage is tossed away. Whats funny is when Elder Kai is first and introduced everyone kind of saw him as joke when it turns out he is the exact opposite of a joke. He reminds me of Dabura in the sense that every decision he makes is extremely smart and right on the money. Except Dabura was on the opposite team.
