Honestly, this episode showed a lot of character development for Vegeta in a special way. Whis told him that he'd train Vegeta if he agreed to one day become a Destroyer God. But, instead of agreeing to it like the old Vegeta would have prior to Buu, he declined it by doing an alternative method of bribery through food. This shows that Vegeta does not a desire to be a destructive entity like he use to be, that he doesn't want to go down the evil path a 3rd time (the 2nd being when he let Babadi control him for more power). On top of this, Vegeta actually swallowed his pride and asked Whis to train him to begin with, which is something he would never have done in the past. He wouldn't even train with Future Trunks in the Time Chamber to prepare for Cell, and they were stuck together for a full year at that time without budging once. While Vegeta is still all about his goal of being the strongest, he doesn't seem to want to compromise the man he is now to do it. Good on the Prince of all Saiyans, being a real ruler at long last because now he is able to control himself.

Up until Whis trained him Vegeta was self-made, not allowing anyone to teach him. Now because of the development of his character he swallows his pride to allow Whis to help him, and boy does it pays off.

It is lol you HAVE to have Super Saiyan God in order to turn blue because Blue is the Super Saiyan version of the Red god form, Vegeta has the red form indeed and he later uses it in the movie, he also uses it a lot in the Manga of Dragon Ball Super

In the Battle Of Gods movie near the end Beerus tells Goku that Whis is his teacher . So it was said in the movie you guys saw already . Also remember this episode because a lot of ppl kept forgetting that Vegeta didnt go train with Whis if he agreed to become a destroyer one day . He used the cup ramen noodles to get him to train him instead .

That is a good point. Even I forget sometimes it’s the noodles that swayed Whis, since Vegeta would not take him up on his offer to become a Destroyer. Very good character development. Much of this episode shows how different Vegeta has really become since he first arrived on Earth and threatened to blow it up out of maniacal pettiness. Just like how he reacted when Beerus first showed up, Vegeta truly is one of Earth’s defenders.

The animation and drawings in this episode are a bit different and remind a bit of some Z episodes (specially the facial expressions and features) Shuichi Iseki worked on this episode, a very talented animator and although it was not a fighting episode you could totally feel he recaptured that z feel in the art. Sadly he never showed up again and went to animate and direct the new Evangelion movies

Reason Vegeta doing all these is because of development. He havent allowed to train under till Dbs,He started to change from Buu saga which was almost last big saga , So we havent seen much of his development later which is what we are seeing in DBS.

While it "doesn't seem like vegeta" to a lot of people how he behaves at this point i don't think people really appreciate proper character development. This isn't the same vegeta we know from cell and buu period. He grew enough to swallow his pride by the end of the buu saga, and coming face to face with beerus humbled him even more. He's taken a page from goku at this point and is willing to be trained by another for the first time in his life. He just wants to get stronger now but at the same time he won't compromise his morals in exchange for power like he did with babadi

To clarify, 15 wasn't skipped on patreon just youtube. They watched it but fillers don't go on youtube as a rule. The poll on the patreon has them watching Copy Vegeta arc there but it will be skipped on youtube because it is filler.Thats part of the patreon tiers thing is filler eps, GT, and movies. So here it is will skipped, but if you really want it you can pay for access.Though to me, its not a great value proposition, especially given the overall lack of good filler episodes. Clearly with 100+ comments on some of the posts over there are some tens of people who are takers on that proposition though so as I said if you really want it its available as paywalled content.And if you are just worried about them watching it, they probably will put it up to a poll but given its 69 and 70 you are referring to and they just finished the voting on the copy vegeta arc in the 40-ish episode count, it will be a minute before that is decided. Krillin isn't that weak. He took a flush punch in the face. He's not as strong as Beerus, but krillin is strong. Base form Goku can't kill krillin with one punch. Of corse if base form Goku were to fight and beat krillin to death based form Goku can probably do that but if he stayed in base krillin will compete with his ass. Krillin struggles with the super Saiyan transformations and beyond. He did a beam strugle with super Saiyan blue Goku so I guess he wasn't as strong as he was when he beam struggled super Saiyan blue Goku. Not long after he made super Saiyan work.

"Base form Goku can't kill krillin with one punch". I don't know about that, especially at that point in the series. Vegeta was punching holes through people when the power level difference was less than 10,000. Remember Zarbon. He wore out his armor then put a hand straight through him with a heavy punch as soon as he got through. Not saying Krillin is really all that weak but even if he stronger than Frieza was on Namek, Goku could kill him in one punch if he went full force at this point having that SSG boost to his base abilities. Look at what Cell did with one kick and what Recoome did to Krillin when he was only 3 times as strong. One hit almost dead. I think Krillin is just a good fighter against much stronger opponents up until the gap is too large and he takes a good hit. When he fought Piccolo Jr. in that arc he was only half as strong but Piccolo had a lot more trouble from him than he expected. He's always been scrappy and compete above what he should be able to. Goku could have have hit him even harder in base form and that probably would have killed him.

They are not hiding anything. They watched Battle of Gods and Resurrection F and those reactions are on the patreon with all the filler episdes they skipped including episode 15 of super. They've seen the movie versions and actually have now already seen the show version beause they on the Universe 6 arc episode 35 on patreon. KZbin is just delayed for KZbin specific editing and to keep patreon ahead. In the movie version of Ressurection F you don't see a lot of the training as in depth as the show so at this point in their filming they haven't seen SSG Vegeta because you don't see that in the anime or first two movies at all. He goes straight to Blue. Only Goku uses it in the ToP. In the manga and the Broly movie, Vegeta uses it. But going in order and anime only, they need to finish Super before watching Broly. So yea Vegeta can and does in the manga and then finally uses onscreen in the anime movie Broly which they didn't watch yet. So Madison hasn't seen SSG Vegeta at all yet besides maybe an action figure that Baris has somewhere.

Actually Battle of Gods(March 2013 Japanese movie release) predates the release of the anime for Food wars(April to September 2015, announced October 2015) so if they were copying Food Wars it would have been the manga which was obviously popular enough to get an anime, but itself only started in November 2012 during when they were finishing Battle of Gods. I actually don't think this was the case, but who knows. Toriyama might have read it and stole in the last couple months of editing and animation revisions and them change his reactions. To me, that seems extremely unlikely but 4 months is just enough time where I can't say its impossible to conceive. I honestly believe Toriyama just saw Dragonball Evolution in 2009, got pissed, and decided to get more involved going forward. Hence him getting heavily involved in Battle of Gods which was in production in some form already and him creating Whis. Whis falls right in with gag humor even him stepping in poo later in the anime is straight up Dr. Slump humor.
