Transplanting vegetable seedlings from a nursery to their final establishment beds always fills our team with excitement and positive feelings. This video shares how we settled a sweet pepper crop onto its home on Dubai 1 at Winterthorn.
The day of transplanting comes as the last step in a process that starts with planning, then involves preparing the beds and the seedlings.

Hello from Namibia 🇳🇦 . I am not a farmer but a very new back yard gardener or a yardner 😊. Off course I ran to KZbin for tips and tricks. There are so many content which is very helpful but I couldn’t find anyone doing it in our neck of the woods until I found you. I know what you are doing is totally different but I get so many tips from you that is relevant to somewhat similar to my environment. Then again I just love watching your absolutely neat farming techniques. Thank you so much ❤❤❤

Hello from Vietnam. i have learned a lot from your videos. Could you please share a little bit about how do you deal with clogging problems when using drip irrigation?

Do a show on how u manage your farm when u are not there , always watch from kenya
@mondofarms4343
@mondofarms4343 7 ай бұрын
Thanks, that is a great idea. We were thinking about that, and now that you have asked specifically, I know there is an audience for it. Ome very useful tool as yoi can see from our KZbin videos is that our two farm supervisors and their farm manager have been given cell phones on which they shoot video updates and reports for me and share via WhatsApp. It is very effective. I get videos from throughout the working day. The cost of moderate phones like Samsung Galaxy A03 or A04, plus monthly bundles and data is worthwhile. Of course, it also falls on me to keep watching the videos and respond to what I'm shown.

@mondofarms4343
@mondofarms4343 Ай бұрын
Thanks. Black Earth is a product we buy from a company called Osho Chemicals. This is from their website www.oshochem.com/oshoproduct/blackearth-85-wsg/ They operate here in Zambia, and I recall them being present in East Africa. If you can't get it from them, I'm confident that you can find other similar products.

So basically the fertility trenches are covered with soil that makes a flat surface of the beds?

The slash and burn of the grass is not always bad (it could be that the grass is carrying a disease that fire will cleanse from it), but it is true that it's an outdated agricultural practice.

Good to hear from you Sir my question is on applying direct manure from the poultry is wrong?
@mondofarms4343
@mondofarms4343 7 ай бұрын
Yes, no, maybe. It depends. Manure is usually safe to apply to crops if it is well decomposed. Perhaps left outside for 4-6 weeks so that some of its ammonia content has reduced. Fresh manure can be quite dangerous, especially if applied too close to young plant roots or seeds. We use manure to make compost, which is a more moderate form or organic nutrient. Pls check oit oir detailed video on how we make compost.

Hello. What's the name of your green pepper supplier.

Sadly, they didn't pay for us to advertise their products or services 😕 We are avoiding giving too much free marketing of the products and services we feature on our videos, which are exposed to thousands of viewers. As we often say on our channel, 'Farming is a business' So is KZbin.

Why dont you grow in a green house
@mondofarms4343
@mondofarms4343 6 ай бұрын
Thanks, Matthew. We come across questions like this from time to time on our channel. It's a matter of context. We are African farmers making sharing primarily to other farmers here in Africa. Most of us don't yet have greenhouses for economic and developmental reasons, so we show how vegetables can be grown on the open field. That is relevant to our primary target audience. Hope that helps.

Its not healthy to burn the grass just mulch them they will give u good manure

Indeed. I was sad to see it but decided to include that clip on purpose. Mainly to show what happens on real farms in Africa. The battle to inculcate modern agronomic practices in farm workers goes on.

It's been a minute. Has the dry spell affected your fields and crops?
@mondofarms4343
@mondofarms4343 7 ай бұрын
Yes, indeed. Things are quite tense and we're not forecast to get any rain until next month. I was supposed to work on a video about it and our efforts to irrigate the field crops. But it was just too depressing, and I pivoted to this more cheerful one instead.

I wonder if apples would grow well there, or if they've to be shipped in from colder places like SA (I know that apples are, on the whole, not very heat-hardy).
