Very logical, very practical advise. I have n been struggling to keep up with washing lettuce once I get it home. I have a small apartment. You made me ask: why aren’t I washing it at the provided wash table on site, before it even wilts? Duh. Thanks!

Good idea. An immediate wash for your lettuce will also help get the field heat out right away and that will prolong the storage life. Hopefully there is a method of drying the lettuce at the wash table as well, because too much moisture in storage will lead to rotting much quicker. We spin our lettuce after washing and then let it sit for a short period under a couple of box fans until the wet sheen has evaporated. Ideally, we'll get it into a refrigerated space without any moisture sitting on the leaves.

Thanks for such great material, Ive come to similar conclusions, but forgotten some 😂. Thanks for a good reminder - looking forward to some sweet infrastructure in my future.
