1. what you eat is Chongqing noodle, it's a chain restaurant, you will see lots of Chongqing noodle everywhere in the street. 2. China has 10000km metro system in more than 60 cities. 9 of 10 cities with the most longest metro system in the world are from China. 3. People in China especially in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, they don't need wear a suit to work, it's more close to US style, you can wear what you want. more people like the casual style.

Your observation about Beijing is quite accurate. The atmosphere is much more relaxed, to the point where very few people would feel the need to dress up for work. Even office ladies don’t put on very detailed makeup. In contrast, Shanghai is quite different-people there pay much more attention to their appearance and makeup. This phenomenon is also widely discussed on Chinese social media.

10.1-10.7 is China’s National Day holiday. You will see a huge crowd, so please be mentally prepared. So try to avoid attractions that are too popular, otherwise you may collapse if there are too many people.China is relatively free and tolerant. Chinese office workers generally do not need to wear suits. Those who wear suits are usually real estate agents and bank managers. Chinese businessmen generally drive luxury cars or EV cars, so it is difficult to see businessmen on the subway. Japanese society is relatively old-fashioned and formal. It is stipulated that you must wear a suit to work, so you can see suits on the subway. The entire Japanese society is relatively lifeless and lifeless. You rarely see Japanese smiles on the Japanese subway. Japan's technology is very backward. I only saw the news last year that the Japanese government agency finally phased out the 3.5-inch floppy disk (an antique product from 30 years ago). I was shocked!

05:39 Everything in Japan came from China, including its people except for the so-called aborigines, like Burakumins, Ainus, etc. Some things which seem to be firmly established "facts", like Japanese Karate actually came from Fujian in China. The elaborate Japanese tea ceremony (茶道 or "The Way of Tea") or chanoyu (茶の湯) was copied directly from that of the Tang Dynasty yet in spite of the cultural appropriation, Japan claims them as their own and never really openly acknowledged that they came from China (except for Son Goku or Sun Wukong in Dragon Ball). What do you expect? The people actually came from China, after all. All this had been fully documented in Chinese literature and historical archives on paper and bamboo scripts, etc. The Chinese have a joke that the Japanese and their culture are Tang Dynasty fossils. So, everything can be traced back to China. The cat called Maneki Neko 招き猫 in Japan is known as 招财猫 or Zhao Cai Mao in Mandarin Chinese.

Guangzhou and Shenzhen residents (both in Guangdong Province) do not like to wear suits. In the impression of Guangdong residents, suits are too formal, and only insurance salespeople and funeral processions wear suits. Guangdong is the province with the best economic development in China, and California in the United States is no exception. Actually, economic development has nothing to do with what clothes to wear

Chinese don’t wear business suits for day to day office work unless for important occasions or his/her job is low end salesperson. This is very different from Japanese office culture. About the bright lights comment that you made, you have to blame your government’s stance on the war in Ukraine. Sanction is a double edge sword which pushed up the electricity price significantly. I watched a documentary film talking about the low income people in the UK struggling to choose between paying a heating bill or putting foods on the table. What a sad story. Also, many populist governments chose to give up the nuclear plan but on the contrary China double down on investing nuclear energy. All in all, the electricity bill as well as the metro ticket are so affordable in China that most people don’t even think of them as a cost of living at all.
