40:36 actually, wiping that off (I call it housekeeping at work) makes sure the customer doesn’t come back screaming “ever since you changed my oil, it’s now leaking!” When all it was, was the residual oil from the drain plug or filter.

My 37 Chev PU sat outside until the early 70's.Then for the next 15 years it was in a corn crib.until I rescued it and took it to my garage. At 85 years old there were only 2 spots of rust, both where the floor pan meets the back of the cab. Neither were rusted through, but the paint was blistered. I'm boxing the frame so I will cavity wax it, but the climate here is semi arid. I've had portions of the truck in bare metal for over a year with no rust forming.

I use a couple of the 8 and 20 part storage bins from harbor freight, number them as I go along and sometimes write what they are to also jog my memory, then assembly is just counting backwards. big pieces are usually pretty obvious where they go, and if they're not well, maybe I shouldn't be taking cars apart to fix them. :D

RAISED BRAKE - my Neon's were so nice with the raised lamp was located on the back of the decklid - no spoiler issue and it did not look like an add-in like the rear window ones always look to me. Those key batteries are a pain to open. I'd know...I work at AutoZone. I think they actually are childproof. Not sure if you noticed it when you opened it, but the second you break the seal on that plastic, there's a funky smell to it. Wondering if that is just a bitterant.

Great job! I enjoy watching your videos. Unfortunately Lexus IS250's of this vintage were known for excessive carbon buildup on the valves due to Gasoline Direct Injection. See how black the exhaust tips look. The IS350's of this vintage were much better as they had both Port injection and GDI to counter the effects of excessive buildup on the valves.
@CouchMan882 жыл бұрын
Can probably run some Seafoam through the throttle body or the brake booster vacuum line and clear some of it out. Some of the newer Lexus use port and direct injection still. I know the RC does.
@daytonpyro2 жыл бұрын
you work on so many cars. in your opinion between a Lexus es 350. a 2020 chevy impala and or an Avalon, Camery what one has the most leg room and do you think would last? call me crazy but i like the layout of the impala better. but i had an older one and had lots of repairs. ADD OCD sucks lol. i cant decide. and i loved this series. i could never do this. mad props to figure out it all goes back together.

Your sense of humor has improved greatly since last vid, did you win the loto? lol. The reason gm cars break and Lexus does not is east. Every vendor knows gm will not return junk parts. Lexus, on the other hand, will send all parts on shelf if they find a few bad ones. Then they back-charge for the parts the shipping and will send them back all again if the vendor misses one and sends a bad part back to them. GM could have best quality but. they simply do not want it.
