Vehicle Emergency Kit - MUST HAVE ITEMS FOR YOUR LOADOUT

Nice kit. Here are a few items i also carry that might be added: a) 2 non weight bearing carabiners and 2 weight bearing carabiners. b) a hank of 550 paracord. Sometime your full size rope is too much. c) carry 1 wool blanket for each person. (Usually, it is me, my wife, and son who are in the vehicle so i have 3blankets). Just makes it more comfortable and if it's that cold, you have extra. And here is a suggestion: even though your case or bag that you keep your gear in says it is waterproof, don't believe it. I drive a 2015 Silverado pick up and have to keep our 'waterproof' emergency equipment box in the bed. Even being under a bed cover, a few years ago, i opened it to add a few items and found almost 5 inches of water in it!! Most of the stuff was ruined, especially the jump pack, lights and other electronic gear. What i did after salvaging/replacing what i could was, i put the stuff in a 55 gallon drum liner and then pu that in the box. Since then, nothing has been even damp. Happy n safe travels.

Really helpful video - thanks for posting it. I like to also have a trauma kit - things that I hope I never need like tourniquet, splint, big bandage, elastic wrap, medical tape.

I keep pieces of bug screen/netting and magnets in mine and have manual window cranks because if broke down, chances are the ac will be inoperable while waitingfor help, and if in a wooded area, the mosquitoes and other critters will eat you alive. With the rising West Nile virus, it helps.
