Great job! And the timing of posting it couldn’t be more relevant to the work I’m currently doing on my Ram 1500. I’m finally on the driver’s side warped manifold replacement after just finishing the passenger side. I’m going to check my O2 sensor and catalytic converter to see if that’s why I’m getting misfire codes. I’m praying that it’s not the lifters and camshaft.

Yup. Everyone told me it was the front O2 sensor. I got a new one and my Fusion still ran like shit. I pulled out the MAF sensor, sprayed it with carburetor cleaner, and the car ran great for about 30 minutes. Changed the MAF and I'm up and running. Moral of the story: check the MAF sensor first. It's way easier to get to.

Nissan doesn't call their upstream sensor an O2 sensor. It's called an air/fuel ratio sensor and it gives a P2A00 code for bank 1 with a check engine light. But other things can cause which makes it frustrating to isolate. I replaced the sensor and still get the code. So it could be a vacuum leak, an exhaust leak, or who knows. Starting is fine. No black exhaust. Idle appears to be OK. No real hesitation. But the Bank 1 Short Term Fuel Trim is high; hovers around 15%+ . I just wish the code pertained to one thing and not the result of being effected by other things.

hey quick question for spec v owner do you think a bad 02 sensor will cause buring oil as well?

it sounds like fuel injector/s might need cleaned or replaced if the actuator isnt operating right or the bank 1 fuel sensor. Injectors are easy to clean just need 9v battery wire and carp cleaner. take out injector unplug it use wire and 9v to open and make sure the actuator is working. With it open spray carp cleaner through it (also the spray straw try to narrow the end to fit in to injector. If it doesnt solve it maybe the sensor. Also it injector have been changed make sure there the right ones by the color of the strip that is on them that let u know the volume it can spray. Also a sprak plug or plug wire or coil pack can cause the same thing. maybe but i woundnt think so but the rocker or valve on the head O2 sensor are just diagnostic and a bad one wont hurt the motor just maybe fuel consumption not always. Back fires is from timing being off and knocking is from bad gas or low octane fuel. Not from lean of rich fuel to Oxygen ratio. out of timing with these newer motor can be a crank sensor if not not timing chain and castors

I got a question for you, but I am not sure it’s relevant to the o2 sensor failure or not. My question to you is this: My vehicle sometimes takes longer to start, I smelled terrible exhaust smell mixed with gasoline this afternoon when I started it, so I also have problems with acceleration, because when going from 45 to 50 mph and higher, my car jerks and RPMs fluctuate on the tachometer. Can all these symptoms relate to a bad oxygen sensor? I would like to know, because I am afraid to take the car on a highway. Please let me know. Thanks.

Ok I don't have a code reader and have run into an issue with my 2011 camry. The first start up in the morning is great. The engine cranks right up. After I have driven it for a few miles 10, 20 or 30 and let it sit for a moment it cranks, cranks and cranks then eventually starts up. I recently put in a new battery and replaced the air filter. Any suggestions where to go next? I've been told the fuel pump, but the car idles and runs great other than the start up on a warm engine.

@@sherrypingby6612 Ok thanks for everyone's help in helping me diagnose my car issue. I went ahead and replaced the fuel pump and everything seems to be working great. Around $400 because I couldn't find the exact replacement for my car anywhere else, but that's ok as long as it works.

could it be why my car accelerates really slow sometimes especially when going uphill a bit. Also, it makes a roaring sound at time like its going to give up on me anytime. Could it be the issue? and how do I resolve it?

Very interesting.. I'm getting a P0171, though I suspect it's from an exhaust leak. Damn car is getting 16L/100km, which isn't ideal. If it had cats, they would be stuffed by now. I'm not putting them in until I get this issue sorted, though.

@@Harper-r8v yeah, I pulled the 02 sensor on that bank and the problem went away. Obviously I now have a new problem, but once I repair my exhaust leak Ill be golden. In the meantime my fuel use is down to 9-10L/100km

the audio sounds good but the visuals have nothing to do with the narrative, very unperfectional.
