That’s a pretty cool upgrade for those cars that don’t have the factory idrive although I think it looks to big in proportion to the rest of the dash. A slightly smaller version would be better.

Routing of the AUX cable depends if you have 6FL (USB) input. If you have 6FL (USB), the sound has to be routed to the AUX port. If you don't have 6FL (USB), the sound is routed from the head unit directly via fiber optics to the sound module in the trunk. 😊

I’m 6FL and read you can code the HU to use the AUX on the rear. But the audio is terrible as I don’t believe it uses the MOST/AMP. Same for the AUX in the arm rest, audio from there is also bad.

I bought an older 335i with very low mileage and one of the selling points was there was not a damn screen on the dash. Not a fan. Absolutely love the BMW though. 335i convertible 2013 42000 miles. Sweet. Also there is something to look at; the road and traffic around you.

My E90 came with factory fitted CIC unit, 6.5 inches. Then I wanted a bigger display, so I went with the Chinese popup-style display. Used it for almost a year and figured out that the sound quality was awful on those. When I switch to the radio, it used the built-in radio tuner and the sounds were way better. When playing MP3 from the Android unit, they weren't good at all. So after some consideration, I upgraded my CIC to the bigger 8.8 inches pro version. I had to change both the display and the head unit and it was wholly worth it. It has a built-in hard drive, so I can load tons of music and the sound quality is top-notch. My conclusion is, if you care about the sound quality, do not go with those Chinese Android units.

@Enrico again, over here, it's not the cops who would do the checking. We have mandatory annual checks called MOT's, which stop us from making too crazy of mods to our cars. Want to delete your DPF or EGR valve... that will cost you £1000 fine when the MOT tester sees it missing either by the visual inspection or the emissions test and you wont be able to drive the car until the car has been returned to stock. Even installing aftermarket LED or HID headlights is now illegal. It used to be so long as the beam pattern was still correct, but they made a change to the law a couple of years back. If you like big tyres on your truck, you can't have any amount of the tyre sticking out of the wheel arches, you have to make sure you also widen them to make sure they cover them. I am not arguing with you or trying to troll you. I genuinely love watching your videos as I love anyone who keeps the older nicer looking cars running and up to date with new tech and stuff. Do you know if there's any mods out there which can add adaptive cruise control to older BMWs? I often have to do a lot of motorway miles and if I could just turn cruise control on and not need to worry about needing to break when the traffic starts building up I would love that

I have this for my e93. I thought it was too big but it's perfect. Easy to reach and touch the screen. I used a hot knife to melt the foam and plastic of the dash. It was super easy and no dust. It's also cool you showed your mistake. Now people will see how not to do what you did

I just put this unit in my 11 328. What a pain in the rear to install. The bracket does not sit flush with the dash. I had to retrofit the bracket with some wall anchors. Don’t ask me how, but I made it work. I’d give it 3 out of 5 stars.

I bought this unit, it worked perfectly fine for 6 months, then suddenly one morning, no radio, no head unit working. Blowing fuse#14 in the glove box. I removed that adapter wiring harness, replaced the fuse just with the radio, and all works fine. Plug in the adapter harness to the radio and instantly pop goes the fuse, thus no power to anything with audio, radio, cd ect.I am stumped as to why. Waiting to now find out about warranty. Not sure if the harness has a fault or if the head unit is back feeding the current. Other than that, it’s an awesome upgrade to my old E90

I just got the new 10.25 CCC Xtrons unit for my E90, model QAB12CCB12E92. It is very similar to this one but is a 10.25" screen made for iDrive, but the big difference is it doesn't have a snapdragon CPU, instead it has Cortex octa-core with 8 gb ram. Im trying to figure out how to get to the advanced settings because it seems like it maybe be hidden on this unit. Overall I'm very happy with it. I ordered a 12.3 Avin unit at the same time so i could compare them, but honestly this xtrons was so good, I canceled the Avin before it even arrived because I feel like this is the perfect size and feel like the whole package is pretty polished. I did have a small issue with it rattling after install, but I was able to take it out and readjust it tighter into the dash ans fixed the rattle issue. Just a dew small options I would like to be able to customize to make it perfect.

They are very good and reliable the later year you get the better. I currently own 2 N55 powered vehicles and EACH have 170k miles on them and neither burn a drop of oil AND they both have a stage 1 MHD tune.

Switching trough the 3 screen menus in your Android Auto: for switching to the left, just push your IDrive Wheel to the right. for switching to the right, just push your IDrive Wheel to the right. It's like in the Original BMW Navigation for switching Back an forward trough the side-menus

Hey! Got a question and need some technical supoort please 🙏🏼 I have a series 3 e93 with parking aid, if I install this screen will they still work? When I bought the car second hand it had another radio installed (cheap one), so I bought the original radio with the professional pack, not the business cd one, and now the parking sensors worked again. I read that the radio works as some kind of computer system for the car. I’m afraid if I install this beautiful screen, they will stop working. Do you have any advice? Thanks!!

The proportions on that new screen totally throw of the balance in the interior. Cool idea, but you need a different screen size.
