Straight up…every video from this channel is a banger. Id actually like to thank the algorithm for servin this up bc Im not a “Boater” I’ve never searched or watched anything to do with boating so id probably would never have come across this channel if it weren’t for the algorithm. But most importantly thank you to the channel creator for making exquisite content

Legends all of them. Lived fast. Money was not an issue. Boat and car racing really took off in that era from limitless drug dollars. Really allowed for some outside the box engineering and horse power to be tested. Today a normal company would never spend the money on development and testing like they could afford.

I live on Marrowstone Island in the Pacific Northwest Washington. I own a 1987 27' Mirage Intimidator 270. I call it 'My Poor man's Cigarette Boat.' I launch her out of Mystery Bay - which folklore says was a place where Smugglers hid. The community up here is popularly sailboats - but I'd like to meet some speedboat guys in the area. I think I'm a lone wolf in the Port Townsend area. I started a Facebook Group call PNW Speedboats. I think I have zero members. 😅

The Bay of Pigs invasion prep work included hundreds of trial runs on small craft from the Keys to Cuban coasts. Much expertise was gained by the government trained crews, long stretches of ocean at a fast rate of speed at night was now a possibility. That being said, boats used for smuggling is a trade as old as the world itself.

Why kill the guy who sold you the contract? And why would a drug dealer want a government contract? 🤔
@poindextertunes3 күн бұрын
you serious? okay here goes: He killed the guy that sold him the contract bcuz he was a loose end and possible informant. The drug dealer bought the govt contract so he could either: A. Slow down the supply of catamarans in which the authorities were using to catch his men or B. Supply the govt with faulty catamarans that break down when reaching certain speeds so they couldn’t catch his men at all

Little known fact: the dramatic reduction in violence in Colombia, and the dramatic increase in violence in Central America and Mexico, is due to effective narcotics interdiction in the Caribbean. When those routes closed, cocaine smugglers needed to begin using overland routes, and since the profits accrue from movement, the Colombians were cut out of that money. Less money to battle over meant less violence there. These new vessels threaten to upend that yet again. Source: Drug Trafficking, Corruption and States: How Illicit Networks Shaped Institutions in Colombia, Guatemala and Mexico (Garay-Salamanca, L., Salcedo-Albarán, E.) With that in mind, the plot of Sicario always seemed strange to me. If they wanted to get hte violence away from the US border, they didn't need to take out the Mexican cartels, they just needed to stop enforcing in the Caribbean.
