Every driver/operator I’ve every had conversation with that does work for Reliable says they have never worked for any better trucking logistics company owner than Tom Abrams. The most common comment was “If you are always giving 100% effort for the company, Tom makes sure that same 100% effort is given to keep you successful.” Pretty cool. 👍🏻😎👍🏻

So I'm an ex honda formula 4stroke off shore monohull powerboat racer from the UK. Steve and Graham(Steve's business partner at Couger raceboats) taught me and my ex girl friend, Rose Lores how to drive a power boat. Legend of a guy. Got nothing but respect and admiration for the guy 💯💪👊 good to see he's still at it and STILL at the top of his game💪👊❤️

FYI. These boats with these motors run 125-130 flat out. Definitely nowhere near 200.

Yeah, Class 1 can hit maybe 150 I believe w/ 1100s but super cat is a “no power adder” class so 120-130 probably about right.

Basically split my spine the last time in power tunnel hull boat. The waves are basically semi solid concrete. But losing ignition that drastically, I see it as no excuse. From funny car bulder to restoring WWII Aircraft, never has ignition failed. I'll suspect low grade crimpers caused it. Along with not using 3 point wire ties for each point, giving wire loom restricted suspension, vs single wrap ties on loom holding looms down too solid on structure, providing zero flex. This is standard aircraft process where high torque engines shake violently in their mounts. I've seen nightmares under control panels as well. Spending many hours of re-engineering every run of cables. When done, you look like you were attacked by Bobcat claws. Those who perform these exact details knows damn well why. Cheers

Are you sure Class I boats run 200mph??? My understanding is Class I power is limited to 2x1100hp. That power will not take the boats anywhere near 200mph.

What gets me is,.. how do these boats NEVER use downforce (reverse) wings to help keep the boats attached to the water's surface?
@brandonthorbahn24052 ай бұрын
They most definitely do have trim capabilities like tunnel tabs and trim tabs. Putting trim down makes the boat run flat in the water. Raising the tab and drives lifts the boat out of the water
@SceneArtisan2 ай бұрын
@@brandonthorbahn2405 Yes, but that's not 'on-the-fly' is it? *Just asking because I don't know, I only saw them raising the propellor shaft (was it?) in the video on the dockside. My point is, they can't do something like you mentioned when they're barrelling along in a race, no?
@andyhan50082 ай бұрын
Yes it is possible to trim the boat while at speed, even my seadoo has a variable trim system. Although I have also wondered why these race boats never employ an air spoiler, like the elevators on the tail of a plane. Maybe the trim system in the water is more than enough to keep the bow down and not shoot up into the sky.
@SceneArtisan2 ай бұрын
@@andyhan5008 I know the design of Donald Campbell's 'Bluebird' is (I say is, because it's been recovered and beautifully restored) vastly different from these modern racing boats, but, you only have to see the violence and utter carnage that can happen if the nose rises too high, even momentarily, trim or not.
@andyhan50082 ай бұрын
@@SceneArtisan oh I have most def seen the insane carnage of what happens when a race boat’s bow rises and lifts off into the air. Like they say THE MOST DANGEROUS MOTOR SPORT (I guess more than motorcycle racing lol). Since it’s literally life and death for the boat to stay on the water, I always thought, why don’t they have air stabilizers as well as trimming the boat. Is it redundant since the hydrodynamic trimming is enough? That’s awesome you got to see the bluebird setup, if you know why most race boats don’t bother with air spoilers I’d appreciate it. Thanks
