When I try to tell older people that guitarists now are way better than they were in the 60's. I get this argument all the time. I point people to stuff like this and tell them Jimi Hendrix would never in his life be able to play this song on guitar.
@zachireland23934 жыл бұрын
My guy I'm 14 and I'm telling you jimi Hendrix could make the song look like child's play. Don't get me wrong I love this song and veil of maya but jimi was a beast

I love how Veil of Maya are able to seamlessly blend technical, well constructed arpeggios with crushing, almost knuckle dragging riffs. It’s even just as refreshing seeing them going back to their tech death origins on some of their newer material like Follow Me from False Idol. Great band, and while they’ve changed direction musically, I’m still sticking around because I love their writing style and would love to see where they go next musically.

there is no guitar channel haha. He's not even plugged in.
@sdotmurda10 жыл бұрын
No he's got a plug in there, you can see it, they usually play it through but play the recorded album version over the video
@lugoe9810 жыл бұрын
Does it really matter how loud his guitar channel is? It is quite obvious that he is playing the song note-for-note. Also they didn't record his guitar for this because it isn't a cover. Also at 3:15 in the video there is only one guitar track going. And that is the guitar track to the left. Still it is quite obvious that he is playing the song.
@sdotmurda10 жыл бұрын
Not saying he isn't playing it, just would like to hear his playing dominant over the backing track
@blankbrian10 жыл бұрын
yeah definitely playing it. I wish they would throw in the guitar track too. It's just easier for the editor to mute the video track and not worry about audio

Lmao how do you count along to an ever changing rhythm in that breakdown
@MetalOfAllOwns9 жыл бұрын
z0mgzt0m He doesnt count, its all by muscle memory. He just plays it so much that it just comes naturally. They are extremely talented musicians.
@Fnic969 жыл бұрын
z0mgzt0m he often uses a pattern that's shorter or longer that a bar, that way it's relative position in each bar is always shifted
@Krauser12268 жыл бұрын
+بابک شادلو if there's 4 beats in a bar in 4/4, he'll write a pattern that repeats after 3 beats or after 5 lets say and repeats that. Alone it has a defined repeat portion and written it does as well, but when you layer it over a count of 4, when it comes around and repeats again, it's not at the beginning of the bar, it's either before or after, so it sounds like it has no repeat, but it does, it's just not repeating at the 1 of the measure, which is the location where our ears have a tendency to want a measure to start again in 4/4 time. Hope that makes sense a bit more.
