***** Yeah, actually that semi-lofi studio sound is one of the reasons I like VoM so much. I can't stand most other modern over-processed bands like Born of Osiris, and the VoM single isn't necessarily bad, but to me it sound a little over-processed, plus the whole song sounds like a generic breakdown unlike their interestingly puzzling breakdowns of the past. Regardless, it's probably too soon to be judging their new work based on just this video.

Okubo uses loop pedals to play some parts that require 2 guitars live. He plays and records the rhythm,harmonies et.c and loops it then he plays leads over it.

Yeah FallenMoonkin.....If you dont understand modern guitar techniques than just keep your dumb reactions to yourself. Yes they play with tracks, duh its progressive metal. No prog metal band plays without clicktrack or sample's. And being the only guitarist means some guitar pieces are either looped or on track

I do understand how thats works recording and looping and he SEEMS to be doing live with his pedals. but that overall sound is like total a backing track hardcore and not live play at all. look at any other bands live sound even similar and they are not even like this. thats why you cant even hear him play and its drown out by everything else. BoO, ATB, WTR all of them use axe fx too and their live sound/show is 100 times better than these guys. these guys are a just a studio band and alright to listen to at home and I've seen them live. the lady gaga lip sync of metal.
