LYRICS:
We don’t belong at these heights
Watching over all
We’ve come to the point of the obelisk
Impaled as we fall
Collapse under the weight of time
In this still life of our design
Collapse into a great resolve
Everything falls
A broken image reflects from a shattered surface
Its shards of truth cut clean their meaning, our purpose
A tearful dawn sheds light
On what we have become
We were not meant to live like this
No life, no freedom
Collapse under the weight of time
In this still life of our design
Collapse into a great resolve
Everything falls
A broken image reflects from a shattered surface
Its shards of truth cut clean their meaning, our purpose
To struggle, to glean, to want, to bleed
We’ve bided time
We’ve traveled to distant worlds
On our quest for knowledge and power
We’ve traced the galactic whorls
And now full circle
Unfulfilled by what we’ve seen
This is it, one galaxy
Out of the shadows, my silhouette is torn
Freed from the darkness, I see my vile form
Bleeding out from a spiral clade
This is all I have
This is all that I have
To live, to die, to lose our pride
To accept our fate. Life is not ours to dictate
Stagnation is death in a constitution of progress
Now at the zenith there is nowhere left, nowhere left to go but down
Ruling in the present while the future eludes us
The further we push forward, the harder it becomes to look back
To struggle, to glean, to want, to bleed
To live, we must die. We live to die

Time to abandon any claim of Vektor being derivative. Of course, they have their influences which manifest in their music but what band doesn't? There's certainly no shame in being regarded as the Pink Floyd of Thrash or Voivod on steroids but interpreting Vektor simply through a prism comprised of their collective sum of influences is both a disservice to the band and blinds you to how good, and original, these guys are.

I had not heard of Vektor before I started listening to this album and I am just starting to get really into thrash. And after the first two songs, which I loved btw, I had no idea if this album could be classified as thrash. And when I finally started listening to 'Collapse', I was even more confused. That is, until the synchronized raspy and clean vocals come into play and then the riffs take over- I was starting to feel the vibes of the rest of the album. It felt like thrash again but very different and yet so beautiful. The first part of this song makes me want to cry. Like I feel like when I listen to Pink Floyd's 'Brain Damage', , Dire Straits' 'Brothers in Arms', X Japan's 'Art of Life' and Rush's 'Xanadu' in bits and pieces. And later when those riffs start hitting you full-on and finally goosebumps at the section that starts at 07:48. Man - what a song! I feel so lucky that I have two other Vektor albums to listen to once I fully digest Terminal Redux

I was actually thinking it was nice to hear a prog metal band that DIDN'T sound like Opeth. This doesn't sound much like Opeth to me at all.

Yes, the first band in an age to sound genuinely boundary-pushing and modern, but also stays true to its metal roots. I am growing increasingly tired of "br00tal then soft, then repeat" songwriting; the cleaner bits always seem like disjointed, hackneyed clichés. To make a full-blown thrash record that doesn't retread any old ground is a staggering achievement.

If Metallica, Megadeth, Cynic and Destruction had a baby, and the baby would then eat their parents and shit out this album. Absolutely brilliant.
