Yey, finally, my headcanon theory about Velka will see the light of the podcast!

Oh something I forgot to say is Velka in Elvish means flame. And that after the four lords are initially introduced (Nito, Izalith, Gwyn, and the Pygmy) they four main characters are shown fighting in the order that the bible mentions the four four horsemen of the apocalypse Gwyn (white horse), Izalith (red horse), Nito (black horse), and Seath (Pale horse)

That was fantastic. My head is abuzz with thoughts and theories
@njorlpinipini3 жыл бұрын
Ok, here’s my theory: As said here, Priscilla is the daughter of Velka and Seath. Gwyn imprisons Priscilla because of her lifehunt power, and later fathers a child with her (gwyndolin) because he wants to harness the power for himself. Velka finds out about this and is understandably furious, creating an animosity between the occult and the divine lasting thousands of years. The nito/harvest symbolism fits really well with my theory regarding his role in the natural cycle of the world. Nito, (fall), harvests souls during the age of fire (summer). These souls are used to rebuild and renew the world during the age of dark (winter) until Izalith (spring) relights the first flame and the cycle begins again.

About the harvest/death thing, there's also Kronos, the father of Zeus, who is a god of harvest. His symbol is a flint sickle with which he emasculates his own father, Ouranos. Later, due to the similarity between the words Kronos and Khronos (time) in post-Classical Greek, and time being associated with death, he and his sickle also become associated with death, often together with an hourglass.

Can someone tell me who the corpse is in ceaseless discharge's arena if not a daughter of chaos?
@SinclairLore Жыл бұрын
It's a Daughter of Chaos. I don't know if the video says otherwise; it's extremely old and I don't remember what we said.
@JackBz Жыл бұрын
@@SinclairLore Oh hello! Yep I just discovered your channel recently and have been listening to old videos while playing games and having a blast :) I haven't watched the whole video yet, so maybe it is addressed later. But at the start of the video the theory is outlined: Velka is an unaccounted for daughter of chaos (of which there are 7). We know about the fair lady, quelaag, quelana, the 2 daughters in the bed of chaos arena, and the unnamed one that attacks you outside the bed of chaos arena. That makes 6, and the theory is that Velka would be the 7th. But there is also the corpse in ceaseless discharge's arena which hasn't been mentioned yet

Yeah, I find it hard to believe the Seath x Gwynevere theory. Maybe a test tube Gwyndolin with Seath and Gwyn's using a Surrogate mother.

I know there's nothing to back it up. But what if Andre is the blacksmith deity, or a fragment of him. Every blacksmith statue we find seems to be him. And titanite and titanite demons are all fragments. Its stupid theory but one worth thinking about for a second.
@maximillion3223 жыл бұрын
I don’t think those are statues, I think they’re meant to be the corpses of old blacksmiths, and they just happen to look similar to Andre. Though Andre might be a god- there was a scrapped plotline in DS1 that revealed Andre to be Gwyn’s firstborn. Visually and personality wise, Andre is just Godo from Berserk. Also, while this might not be true, my headcanon is that the Nameless Blacksmith Deity was either a giant or the original giant.
@vasylpark21493 жыл бұрын
@@maximillion322 the theory I ascribe to is that the head of the nameless blacksmith deity is in ash lake. And the size of the titanite demons makes him seem to be a giant.
@maximillion3223 жыл бұрын
@@vasylpark2149 I have mixed feelings about this theory because the head really looks like a chaos demon to me, but otherwise it's really the best explanation that we have for that head. And he might still be the predecessor of giants. The main reason I believe this is related to the giant blacksmith. If he's the "blacksmith of the gods" who created the gods' armor and weapons after the death of the NBD, they must have been at least somehow related. Also, the head in Ash Lake would be the most giant giant that there is. I mean that thing is too big to be the head of any creature we've seen in the entire souls series. Here's some interesting food for thought that I don't know how to make into a theory: the skull in ash lake looks REALLY similar to Vamos' head. I don't know what to do with that, but it's a connection between that head and a powerful blacksmith.
@vasylpark21493 жыл бұрын
@@maximillion322 that is a good point. Vamos helm states he is from an ancient line and the the chaos flame ember can only be used by those knowledgeable in ancient arts may say he is probably a descendant of the Izalith or the blacksmith deity. I do very much agree that the Blacksmith deity might actually be a demon since the titanite demons spawned after his death. As for who picked up forging after his dead that would most likely be Eidas and the Giant Blacksmith both who I believe are his pupils. The giant blacksmith made the lightning bolt without having ever seen a crossbow, and Eidas was brainwashed by seath using crystal to forge his weapons. The dukes archives we most likely constructed by the blacksmith deity. I highly recommend checking out the video on the rebellion against the gods by hawkshaw. That is where I built most of the current hypothesis I have. But i do like the idea of the blacksmith being a demon that actually makes much more sense that explains a lot better why there is a respawning titanite demon in lost Izalith. Maybe the blacksmith deity is Izalith's brother.
@maximillion3223 жыл бұрын
@@vasylpark2149 I’ve seen every Hawkshaw video, and while some of their conclusions seem self evident, I also think that some of them are too much of a stretch, and based on weak or cherry picked evidence. I love Hawkshaw but I don’t completely subscribe to all of their theories. For one thing, the name of the Titanite Demons are actually mistranslated. Their name is 魔物 , "Mamono" which, can be translated as demon. The chaos demons are called デモン , which is exactly read as "Demon". Basically what I’m saying is that the existence of the Titanite demons doesn’t draw a connection between the NBD and Izalith because they aren’t really “demons” in the Dark Souls sense.

idk, I always thought Velka was inspired by Lilith 🤷
@OccultEclipse Жыл бұрын
I think Izalith is far more likely to be inspired by Lilith. Her name is a portmanteau of ‘Izanami’ (Shinto Kami of the underworld, originally she was a mother goddess who died and was reborn as a cthonic deity) and ‘Lilith’, who is the Mesopotamian mother of demons/a demon of nocturnal storms and nightmares, often associated with witchcraft. Izalith and her daughters claimed their soul and bathed the world in fire pyromancy in order to defeat the dragons, then returned to their world below to experiment with chaos and became demons. With the Bed of Chaos being specified as the “seedbed of life” and the mother of all the demons.

Thank you but, 1 - Velka is not daughter of Izalith 2 - Beatrice is not Velka 3 - Fina is not Gwynevere 4 - Gwyndolin is not daughter of Velka (he is not even a daughter)
@err0r0b03 жыл бұрын
Agreed
@maximillion3223 жыл бұрын
Yeah all those theories were a bit too out there for me. Except the idea of Velka being a daughter of Izalith is weirdly actually pretty plausible to me. I always wondered what the deal is with witches and how they were related to the Witches of Izalith. Food for thought. Other than that, my headcanon goes: Beatrice is NOT velka, but is a descendant of Velka. Fina is Gwyn’s wife, and the mother of at least his first two children (Gwynevere and Nameless.) I don’t have a concrete opinion on exactly what Gwyndolin is, but since Gwyn is a Zeus archetype and Gwyndolin is a secret, I believe Gwyndolin is the product of an affair between Gwyn and Priscilla. (I do have a very specific and thoroughly considered idea of Priscilla’s origin that I will not get into, but I DO NOT believe she is the daughter of Seath and Gwynevere.) I also believe that Filianore, the other child that Gwyn did his best to sideline, is a product of an affair between Gwyn and Velka.
@chrisp.93803 жыл бұрын
I find the Beatrice idea to be stupid, but the rest is plausible to me. The Daughter of Izalith connection is also a little tenuous, but it still holds more water than the Beatrice theory. However, I find that the Gwynevere and Gwyndolin theories are too good to not be true, would you mind explaining why you think they should just be dismissed outright?
@ozanozkirmizi473 жыл бұрын
@@chrisp.9380 1 - Gwynevere (princess & queen of sunlight) , married with flame god Flann and left Anor Londo. She is not Fina, as she does not have any affair neighter with Xantious King Jeremiah, not Sir Knight Lauthrec (from Carim). Fina (goddess of fateful beauty) wears armor on her arms. How do we know it? Just check the body armor of Lautrec of Carim. The arms you see there, belongs to Fina. 2 - We know that, Velka is murdered by Gwyn (in person or by his command) as she attemted to punish the sinner deities of Anor Londo (including Gwyn's himself). Her covenant taken over (afterwards) and granted to his son (Gwyndolin) to operate it. Gwyndolin only cares, who ever desecrate the sacred city of Anor Londo and refuse to follow Gwyn's foot steps. So... he dispatches, blades of the dark moon to kill the tresspasser. Gwyndolin does not care, who ever commits (any) sin and/or to be punished accordingly. He only cares, sanctity of his father's (monumental) tomb and the palace of Anor Londo.
@chrisp.93803 жыл бұрын
@@ozanozkirmizi47 What you have just written has way more head canon and baseless theories than even the guest did. There is no proof Gwyn had Velka killed, the Queen of Sunlight title was just a mistranslation on the script given to the voice acting team, the original Japanese text only calls Gwynevere the princess of sunlight, there is no proof that the blades of the Darkmoon was taken over from Velka by Gwyndolin, all that is ever said is that Velka oversees the book of the guilty. That is just to name a few inaccuracies. You really have no business calling Sin and JSF's guest's theories flat out wrong when this is the stuff you take as canon.
