Leave a comment if you'd be interested in 1) seeing me put this in a project box and/or 2) discussing how the circuit works.

it is a great little kit for sure. Velleman documentation is good too.

Agreed. This is the first Velleman kit I've put together. The "wordless" instructions worked surprisingly well.

A clear and helpful video about building a really useful peace of test gear, especially if used with an oscilloscope. I'd like to see a bit more about this project, especially how you connected it to the scope, and you talking some more about scopes in general. - I've just got an analogue scope, I want to know more about using it, and you've got a really good way of explaining. Anyway, thanks for making this video, I'm going to have a look at some of your others. Regards, David.

Thanks for the feedback David. I've thought about doing some videos on using the old analog scope.. I'll make a note about your interest and see how I can work in into my schedule. Cheers.

I have a half-assembled pair of speakers (Overnight Sensation for Parts Express)... They're half-assembled because I have to make the crossovers myself and I got frustrated soldering it toghether! 🙃

Uh oh, sorry to hear that. What were you frustrated with?

I would be interested in seeing this in a project box. I am not about to try to discuss how this works. LOL

Thanks for voting. After releasing this, I've realized it might be good to show how it can be used. Putting it in a box would be a natural first step to doing that.

I just bought one of these, but haven't opened the box yet. How easy would it be to send this to an amplifier so that you can hear these signals? After all, just looking at sine/square/sawtooth waves isn't so interesting ;-). Maybe there's a simple Velleman amplifier kit that could go with this? Oh, I forgot to add it would be great to see in a project box.

Thanks for watching! Funny you should ask about an amplifier... I have the parts to make one in an upcoming video. I'll see what I can do about a project box.

thanks for this video. you were very concise and easy to follow. i am a beginner with this. i definitely would like to see how you put it in box and also how it works in signal tracing on a radio receiver or whatever else it is designed to work for. i recently purchased the velleman k7000 and put it together, it seems similar to this kit. but instructions on how to input this signal into troubleshooting is lacking. velleman has a support forum but not very helpful. i get a sign wave on one pot and frequency on the other pot, but not sure how to incorporate this tracer/injector into practical use. are probes of some sort necessary to input signal or just jumper wire? thanks john

Thanks. I don't anything about the k7000 but did find this diagram: www.velleman.eu/downloads/0/infosheet_k7000_dcvoltage.pdf Looks like you need to get some probes and connect them to the pins on the board as shown in the diagram along with a speaker and power supply.

@@HouseOfHacks thanks for diagram. show two probes, one on in,one out.think that is an either/or or do you need both? thanks john

Yes, you need both. The k7000 is a signal injector. It has an output that you connect to your circuit that injects a tone. You then use the input to listen for that signal on the speaker.
