Velocette 500, 5 speed conversion, part 2

Part 2 of a 5 speed gearbox conversion for a 1956 Velocette MSS 500, which has slowly improved in performance over the decades. The 5 speed conversion kit will be from Quaife, but I await delivery,so this is simply preparing NOS castings, new and used parts, for the final build and test,prior to fitting to the bike.

Not many people are able to properly explain the assembly of the Velocette gearbox, and the functioning of each part. The peening over of the aluminium to secure the bearing lock ring is perfect. This is a man on top of his job.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge ,pleasant to watch especially when I have restarted my project again after some 15 years in boxes ,a venom 500,are you doing a video on the clutch ? Keep them coming.

Yes. Thanks. Inevitably I shall be stripping down a functioning machine and replacing the gearbox and rebuilding the chain case and contents. Should be fun
