Hey, thanks for the video, I can't adjust the electronic stop as you did, I get to the limit of the clicks before arriving at 0-0.5mm so I have already dropped the chain The low stop is well adjusted and the top one too, However, either I move away the upper stop of the chain and there I can approach the electronic stopper of the chain but impossible to have the right values by adjusting the two (high and electronic). I noticed a support screw is not even in contact with the frame, I'm lost, I don't want to send it to a mechanic because I tried to follow the Shimano manual...

However, the gears normally pass forward and back but I sometimes cross the chains. it derailed like that in the collar, if I manage to adjust the adjustment of the electronic stopper Should the chain stay in place?

First, thank you for your proper information. I have tuned up my Di2. However, when i change the front and rear gears quickly while i am going fast, it causes the chain to fall of from the rear derailleur in between the gap of the rear derailleur. this is happening just very recently. what is causing this and how can it be fixed? Thank you in advance

Lovely video - I have Giant TCR (6850) -- when in big/big to set up trim using the FD shift buttons it won't get withing specified tolerance, however there is no chain rub and the FD auto adjust (low & high limits set with screws are within specified tolerances along with FD height to chain-ring and is parallel, FD shifting is crisp and lovely). I am guessing that this is common with some bikes with regards tolerances or is there something I might have missed or just simply not to worry about it? Many thanks.....

Thank you very much for your very clear tutorial. I have the same Shimano Di2 system: FD 6870. Following your tutorial works fine until the fine tuning of the front derailleur. When I push one of the two switches on the left handlebar, after switching on the red light, nothing happens. Only the red light flashes when I press one of the switches but no movement of the shifter. What is it that I am doing wrong?
@velotiqueBetterWatchSaul4 жыл бұрын
The flashing light indicates an error. To sure what adjustment you are attempting. It is not always possible to perform electrical adjustment..depending on firmware version. You might need to perform this adjustment mechanically using limit screws.
@piet1744 жыл бұрын
@@velotiqueBetterWatchSaul Thanks a lot for your quick answer but maybe I was not clear enough about the red light. What actually happens was as follow: when the red light is on and I press one of the left shifter switches then the red light flashes 4 times off and on and after that it becomes steady red again. Is this an error indicating or is it due to the firmware version. If so is it possible for me to update this version or to correct the error?
@velotiqueBetterWatchSaul4 жыл бұрын
If you run E-tube Project Software it will update firmware. You may be at the upper limit for that adjustment and it won't go further. Can you adjust in the other direction using the other Left Shifter Switch? Depending on what adjustment you are trying to make you may have to achieve it with the limit screws. You can only perform Top Position Electrical Adjustment on Ultegra Di2. Big/Big gear adjustment. See Manual for more details, page 70. si.shimano.com/pdfs/dm/DM-UL0001-03-ENG.pdf

@@velotiqueBetterWatchSaul Thanks again. I used both left shifters. Result: no movement at all. Is it possible that there is no finetuning option of the front derailleur of this (relative old) system? I wanted to added two photos of the control unit but apparently this is not possible. There is a number on it: 7F0JKN0 4953 and also SM-EW6/A.

@velotiqueBetterWatchSaul4 жыл бұрын
Are you in the big or small chain ring? Some derailleurs will not shift into the small-small combination. Or. It's possible that the derailleur hanger is bent. If bent it might be possible to re-bend or replace it.

Super helpful, the only useful video on youtube about this, many thanks! The only thing I don't understand is the very last step. I don't even get close to the chain when pushing the shifting buttons, before I come to the limit. What do I wrong? Why is the gap about 3mm at least? Thank you very much
@velotiqueBetterWatchSaul7 жыл бұрын
If the shifting works to your satisfaction, without any chain rub or noise don't worry about this. If you need to address this you might need to adjust the actual front derailleur position.

For the FD (I have the latest model R8050 Di2) Do I need to do both the mechanical adjustment using the H bolt, and the Electronic adjustments using the LED button adjustment mode? Actually, when I use the electronic mode, I can't see any movement on the derailleur.. very puzzled.

Yes. The electronic mode adjusts by less than one tenth of a gear shift. It might not be noticeable.

If my chain is on the largest chainring and on the largest sprocket my chain goes off to te smallest chainring and try to get back to the largest but it doesn't work, what should i do?
@trikpark7 жыл бұрын
Regarding "Top Position Electronic Adjustment". Does this apply to 6770 FD? When I enter adjustment mode, only the REAR derailleur micro adjusts. The front derailleur adjusts as normal. Nor "micro" adjustment for FD.

Also, when in the large ring and large cog, I have TONS of space between inside of FD cage and the chain. This may explain my difficulty in getting chain on to big ring towards the larger cog end of the cassette.
@velotiqueBetterWatchSaul7 жыл бұрын
Set the chain onto the smaller chainring and the largest sprocket. Use a 2 mm Allen key to turn the low adjustment bolt to adjust so that there is a clearance of 0 - 0.5 mm between the chain and the chain guide inner plate. Next, set the chain onto the larger chainring and the smallest sprocket. Use a 2 mm Allen key to turn the top adjustment bolt to adjust so that there is a clearance of 0.5 - 1.0 mm between the chain and the chain guide outer plate. Move the front derailleur and the rear derailleur to all gear positions, and check that the chain guide does not touch the chain.
@velotiqueBetterWatchSaul7 жыл бұрын
You are correct. There is no electronic adjustment for the 6770-FD. Follow the mechanical Low ad Top Adjustment Procedures.

velotique in the FD R8050 Di2 model I only see one adjustment bolt - it says H. There is no L and H for the front FD correct? Are we supposed to use that same bolt for both Low and High Adjustments? Or am I missing something? Thanks again for all your responses so far.

Hi Velotique - thanks for this. I have a question. I am finding that after I set the front mech low limit screw as prescribed, then when I have gears set to adjust hi limit the gap between out plate and chain is so large that the screw cannot close it anywhere near to the required distance. I have tried playing with the front mech position itself (not forgetting to losing the spacing screw when doing so). Any ideas? thanks again
@velotiqueBetterWatchSaul4 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean. If the front is shifted to the big chain ring (Hi Gear) it is only a problem if the chain is dumping or rubbing on the front derailleur. Hi limit prevents this. Can you clarify?
@simondavies11924 жыл бұрын
@@velotiqueBetterWatchSaul hi thx for getting back to me - when I put in the big ring the inner face of the front mech is very close to the chain and the outer face is way out, to the point it struggles to chain down to the small ring - and also chain can come off easily. If I screw the hi limit to make the front mech go closer to the bike to close that gap there is not adjustment/screw turns can be made to set it even close to the prescribed 1mm or so gap.

I have a problem with my new bike with Di2 Ultegra 6870 where i have trouble going from the small to big ring in the front. This (mostly) happens when I'm in the middle of the cassette in the back. Electronically moving the front derailleur (as per the video) to its max limit I still have way more than 0,5mm between the chain and the inner plate of the front derailleur. Any suggestions?
@velotiqueBetterWatchSaul7 жыл бұрын
It sounds like your front derailleur might not be positioned correctly or your crank arm is not fully tightened. Try to center the front derailleur on its mount. You should not have to set the electronic adjustment to this extreme. Did it ever work correctly. If it did then something has changed IE: loose crank arm.
