Picked this baby up on the weekend and already put 45 miles on it. Absolutely loving it. I rode the Rock Creek Trail into D.C. and had a breeze getting through it in ECO mode. I mostly stuck to ECO 2 to 3 and could feel the power from that! Whenever I felt like I had a ton of energy I also turned the PA to 0 so it turned into a regular bike and still had a breeze due to its lower weight. I might pick up the battery extender eventually, will wait to see if there's ever a sale for it, but honestly if you stick to ECO/Trail mode you might never really feel like you need it.

I have the older T1ST the motor started grinding and the sensor wouldn’t help pedal so I called them and they sent me a brand new T1ST bike free! 😮 I got this new one free! Amazing customer support ❤

I have the T1ST and the T1ST plus model with battery extender. In terms of performance, I got about 36 miles on the original in Echo 5 mode with an average speed of 16 mph. On the Plus, I have to use Trail 3 mode to match the Echo 5 performance, and I’m seeing around 40 miles with an average speed of 16.6 mph. I also purchased the Velotric Range Extender battery, but it doesn't extend the range as expected. Instead, I often have to turn off the bike to allow the Range Extender to recharge the main battery while I pedal. I typically activate it at the start of my ride and once the main battery runs low, I turn off the bike to let the Range Extender do its thing, then switch it back on periodically until either the ride is done or the Range Extender is depleted. Additionally, the Plus model features 170mm crankarms, while the original has 165mm. With my 29-inch inseam, I need 165mm or 160mm crankarms, so I had to buy third-party options since Velotric doesn’t sell them. Overall, I prefer the Plus model, but the original was simpler to use. One major upgrade on the Plus is the rear wheel, which has 36 spokes compared to the 28 spokes on the original T1ST. As a 250-pound rider, I broke four spokes in the first month of using the original, so I’m having the rear wheel rebuilt with stainless steel alpine spokes for added durability.

I've had this for a month and it's been great over 100 miles later. I got this bike as a fitness ebike that I could pedal and get exercise and help be tackle some big hills in my area. Very smooth and quiet. What I don't like: rough ride on bumpy roads. My rear derailleur seems to rattle more that I would expect.

How a second battery works is thru a load balancer, Its how most dual battery bikes work anyways unless valeric is doing something very different as just a charger.. If you start both batteries full it will be trying to pull from both and will keep voltage sagging down, as it will pull power from both batteries. So you will actually get even better acceleration and things will run more efficiently. But in your case it was trying to balance the voltage of both batteries but also receiving a load so likely the controller or splitter were not happy with the amps being pulled thru it so shut off for safety. Nice bike, I wish it had a throttle though as a backup in case of drivetrain issues even if it limited the speed. I have had a chain snap on a ride many miles form my house on my ebike and its one of the rare times i touched the throttle, but was happy it was there. saved me an 11mile walk. Also I would probably buy one of these tomorrow if it had a removeable main battery. I am in the market for a very lightweight commuter ebike to replace my Aventon Level and find I want as light as possible but still want a 48V system with at least a 15ah battery preferably 20AH for almost a Kwh of power on a gravel bike like this.

Will not be as light.

@@ElectricVehicleSpace yeah i don't know what he's thinking. Every light weight ebike is usually a 36v 350 watt system.

Good luck finding a light weight ebike on big battery and 48v system.
@g00fysmiley28 күн бұрын
@@eds7344 I mean a 48V 15ah battery weights about 10 lbs. I never said I wanted the bike to be more powerful. there is just more efficiency in a higher volt system. a removeable 48V 15-20Ah battery and still use a ~300 watt motor and you will get very long range. Plenty of people buy lightweight normal gravel bikes and convert them to 48V 12-20AH w/ 250-350 watt motors to get 80-100 real world mile range ebikes out of them. I just don't want to do my own conversion to make it happen.

I have had this bike for about a month and I really like it. Unfortunately my motor is starting to whine so I am taking it to a shop.

For a heavier ride with great performance try that electric Xpress 750. That bike seems nice though. Especially the weight.

Yeah I went with the lectric express 750w high step. I think it's a better buy. I think it's more fun to have a throttle and a bigger motor.

This is a nice bike, but power management with an additional battery seems wonky, it has a stupid screen with buttons instead of an elegant button on the frame, 15 power levels with a two-finger access to the menu is downright idiotic. The Soltera.2 is only $1K now, the UI is simple, although the components are cheaper and it is heavier. I like 170mm cranks and torque sensor, but I want a simple button back.

You are pumping up the quality of this bike but it seems as thos they forgot the most important part of the picture ........A Battery Balancer ..... Without it the electrical system seems as tho it is in the toilet ! Why do you have a miniature Christmas tree in your crib at this time of year ....... You in a hurry or something ?
@ElectricVehicleSpace2 ай бұрын
I explained why they took that route with the battery in the video. Quality and functions set ups are two different things. Think of that!
