Great review idea. Somwtimes gluten free versions taste better for some reason! Personally, one of my favorite brownie mixes is the Pillsbury gluten free. I don't need GF foods but will buy them sometimes anyway to try them. You should compare the Velveeta shells and cheese to the Stouffer's Supreme mac and cheese that you tried recently. I'm tempted to do it myself because they were so close lol.

I don't think it's fair to compare the two if you have to be gluten free... 😅But it was surprising to hear that you found the GF one better! My GF sister's favorite brand is Daiya. I don't think she'd even look at gluten free Velveeta... Haha.

Thanks for the review and interesting outcome. Personally, I don’t buy Velveeta products or these boxed type of processed cheese products regardless of the brand. It’s good for those who may want or need quick meal prep products and kids do love Mac and cheese so I understand why it works for some. I agree that the prices should be the same regardless of whether it’s GF or the regular.

Loved this review! I actually paused at the end to read the ingredients of the Gluten Free pasta! I’m with you 💯 on Velveeta! And it WAS the bougie pasta back in the day. If you could afford it you were being fancy- because normally I’d get Kraft Mac & Cheese!

Yes! When we had extra money, I would buy the Velveeta Shells and it was a big deal.

I don’t think cooking the GF longer would help that much. The noodles tend to be denser/firmer to begin with, so they often stay al dente

My daughter has to be gluten free and she was so happy when she found this. Our gluten free Thanksgiving is a little more expensive. Aldi has a gluten free dressing that you guys should try😊

I love the Velveeta brand of mac’n cheese. It’s very fattening and high salt. Only once and awhile is okay for my health. I do buy the Velveeta single slices. One slice of it with deli ham on whole wheat bread is delicious!

I like the slices too!

The regular Velveeta is considered gluten because it uses wheat pasta it's not the sauce. Why they chose to change the sauce is to probably overcompensate for the texture of the rice flour which is quite unpleasant as someone who's had celiac disease for over a decade.

Good morning y'all. I hope you're well! Macaroni and cheese to me is Velveeta cheese and shells. I know that homemade is allegedly better but Velveeta is my favorite. In my humble opinion Kraft macaroni and cheese should be against the law! Thank you for responding to my question about the freeze dried Skittles. I purchased both the regular and the sour and enjoy them both. ❤❤❤

Tami, Jamie had an idea. He thinks you should compare the Velveeta gluten free pasta and the Great value gluten free pasta dinners.

I like the Annie's deluxe gluten free the one time I had it but I bought it at whole foods and I only go there once a year due to the prices . I used to eat the Kraft deluxe before I was gluten free I'm not allergic just sensitive to wheat . I recently saw Walmart Great value has gluten free deluxe Mac and cheese but need to check if it's the shell pasta because I prefer that shape over the traditional elbow .

As far as cost I've paid $9 for a gluten-free bread before my food bills are through the roof. I tried to cook about 90% of my own food myself I stay away from processed foods but things like breads astronomical prices.

It's very sad being GF we have to pay more for some groceries. However, it is worth it. Now, pasta is very tricky to cook. You can't over cook it at all or it is mush.

I thoroughly enjoyed the comment you made about how insurance should pay for the food. “Why would they do not pay for sanitary pads”. As a person who has to eat healthier options (most of the time) for medical reasons . I am always commenting. To family members, How much more I pay for food items. My biggest pet peeve is and a comment I always make to people. “It should be illegal for brands and stores to charge so much for woman’s feminine products. Especially since it is not optional (most cases) there should be a price cap on woman’s monthly products.. thank you for another great video. I eat gluten free so this was fun to watch.the carbs are higher because of the rice and corn flour. I usually stay away from these type of gluten free items!
@bigsistruck5 күн бұрын
Heck no, the cost of health insurance is already through the roof, making them cover anything else would make that worse.
@ginny33785 күн бұрын
@ I meant that the companies and stores should have a cap and not be allowed to charge so much for feminine period products etc.

I can’t stand concerts shells bad cheese or Kraft deluxe macaroni and cheese… in fact any boxed macaroni and cheese with a pouch of sauce I can’t stand… I do, however, love the powdered cheese boxed macaroni and cheese… go figure… lol I do feel badly for those that have to pay more for special foods due to medical conditions… it would be nice if there was a way to help those who are gluten free by necessity not choice… but I think too many people would abuse the system… I also agree items such a feminine hygiene products and diapers (both adult and baby) as well as baby formula should be more reasonably priced…

Growing up my nephew would only eat Kraft and it had to be elbow pasta. If they were out to eat they had to ask the waiter what kind of noodles they had. Lol! I don’t have to be gluten free, but it’s so good to know the gluten free tasted yummy. Great review.

I always cook the GF pastas longer than they say. Generally helps them become softer. I didn’t grow up eating velveeta but my husband did. And he’s now GF so we will have to try it. Thanks for the review. I’m interested in you saying it tasted better.
