Dave does the sratches at the begging, and Slash plays the clean cords. When it starts; a wave of warmth, sadness, love and nostalgia hits me everytime, but the break before the solo is maybe even more imapactful. Larger than life , DIVINE. They realy are the last LARGER THAN LIFE Rock&Roll band to form. Makes me sad sometimes that that is the case. I understand that times change but music is less and less being respected and cared for. I dont know what AI is going to do to it , it kinda scares me that we may be losing the HUMAN ELEMENT , the soul , the spirit and emotion in all areas of life . 💥💥⚡️⚡️🎸🎸🤘🤘

I agree Scott brings STP, Duff was in GnR as well as T.S.O.L. a legendary punk band. Matt was in GnR also but he brings the straight rocker drum style of the Cult(fkn great band BTW) and Dave was in LA's Wasted Youth(bess player) one of the more talented of bands from that era and you can't even begin to put Slash's caliber of musicians hip into words. Long Live VR. Rest in PLEASURE Scott you are truly missed my friend.

It's blowing my mind that this song came out almost 20 years ago. TWENTY. Back in the day, I was always dreaming of what it'd be like to be alive in the late 80s. I am now further away from 2003 than I was from 1987 in 2003. Time is wild, but Slash remains timeless!

I was a kid in the late 80s and in junior high when Guns n Roses broke out. So when this came out I was solidly in my 20s. To think that this is now 20 years old proves what my grandmother told me years ago. Time just goes faster and faster the older you get.

Sid Vicious Jr, AKA (Scott Weiland) Had One Excellent song to his Credit, but only the real Talent was Duff and Slash, but Scott did this song Justice, but as far as I'm concerned, this was his best and Finest he ever did! Drugs will get you one of 3 ways, it'll kill ya, It'll Break Ya, and it can ruin everything you ever Dreamed about growing up wanting that Perfect Piece of Property, then having some great friends over with their tools, & in some cases brought extra framing Carpenters, drywallers, 2 Electricians, I men as long as the beer and Liquor didn't run out, my friends built my dream home for free, but that Ice Cold Beer Cost me several thousand bucks, but I had a warm and dry home, but the ex took it from me but I wore or less gave it to her so my sons wouldn't have to worry about having a roof over their Heads. Depression comes in several Million Different ways and can hit us all anytime, anyplace! Peace OUT!

I’ve always thought that conceptually if you could build the perfect rock band from the ground up, starting from scratch, then Velvet Revolver is what you’d come up with. Each of these guys individually was a pillar of talent in their own right, but the fact that all of them came together to form one band is almost unbelievable. Velvet Revolver is the very definition of the term “supergroup.” It’s like somebody built a stacked fantasy team of 80s and 90s rock stars.

I watched the rise of Velvet Revolver documentary and Matt wasn't at all like I expected. First of all, I thought it was kind of funny, he has this high pitched nasally kind of voice, I thought he would sound tougher. Also he turned out to be far more confrontational than I would've thought. It sounded like he was about to give up on the band when they couldn't find the right singer.

He does everything from Pearl Jam to Soundgarden. Then there are songs like Interstate Love Song, Atlanta which is more ballad like. People also like Sour Girl. I dont. And then VR who is clean rock'n roll. Damn did he nail it! Slither, Fall To Pieces! And his Christmas Album!! He sings with a clean classic voice like Sinatra! Damn he was one of a kind! And that show he did put on while on stage when he was at his best! No one was as charismatic as Scott Hot Stuff Weiland!

@@bluewater3783 My pleasure, glad you appreciate my appreciation of that great singer and band 🌹 I also only recently discovered STP when a popular KZbin channel praised in depth “Interstate Love Song”, and another channel with over 6M subs went crazy over “Vasoline”. @@barrysmith8920 Btw, Barry, in case you didn't know, there's this channel: "Rick Beato"--I think he got over 1 Million subs his first year (has around 3 Million, now). He has a Bachelor's in Music from Ithaca College (Double Bass, Classical Music, but Heavily Studied Jazz Guitar); then earned his Master's in Jazz Studies at New England Conservatory of Music (Jazz Guitar). Became a Guitar professor at Ithaca College. :) Then quit to play in bands with record deals, but never "made it big". Ended up in Atlanta as a record producer (of mostly "nu metal"--though he did co-write a #1 Hit Single, which I Believe was a "Country" genre hit). Now "retired", but very busy with his KZbin channel! My point: Rick has an interesting series of videos: "WMTSG?" (What Makes This Song Great?), each is about 15-20 minutes long, as he takes one song per video--"Interstate Love Song", for example--and analyses it musically in interesting ways. Rick has his own recording studio and the tapes to the songs that he analyzes, so he can separate-out just the vocals, or just the drums, etc., as he enlightens us as to what's going on, musically, that the "ordinary" listener might not otherwise pick up on. Check one or two out when you get a chance! :) "What Makes This Song Great?" (Or simply: "WMTSG? Interstate Love Song?"). I think he also does "Vaseline". But he has, like, more than 100 WMTSG?, with greatly varied artists. Enjoy!

It's heartbreaking to see the transformation of Scott from STP when he was buffed and cut to Velvet Revolver when he's just a waif of his old self. You can tell that addiction has taken hold and I wish he had found a way through it!! Such an amazing group!

Just shows how powerful a performer scott Weiland was and why they wanted him for velvet revolver. One of my 90s music idles just with his style and talent. He will be missed.
