For me, it seems his wisdom comes through his spoken words in a way that writings or someone else narrating his words really can't. I greatly appreciate these original recordings. I was given a book at Nilambe in Sri Lanka many years ago called "Wisdom Develops Samadhi" and it had pictures of Ajahn Panna in it, but I'm just now benefiting from this wise venerable teacher's actual voice. It's quite a blessing.

@@SuttasAudio Yes, I think that's a very applicable sutta. I've certainly benefited from Ajahn Geoff also a Serbian monk named Ajahn Nyanamoli who ordained in the Thai Forest Tradition but in Sri Lanka. The Sangha is called Hillside Hermitage though they're settled in Serbia now. He's given many good expositions on Yoniso Manasikara. Google him if you get a chance. In my opinion he gives a brilliant and approachable teaching in this skill.
