No, that's not exactly true. I think your sentiment is the old way, and it's why capitalism has gotten out of control. A more enlightened view is that people should negotiate competitively but the price should be fair to both parties. What is considered fair is subject to debate though.

Hope that kid hits a 9 on that 1st Ed Lugia. He's cooked if that comes back a unlucky 7 like most of Neo Lugias. For those that don't know, 7 = 550-600, 9 =3500. An 8 will probably get his money back. Love how the kid tool a huge chance paying 1075 on a card that could lose him 400-500, but also net him a few thousand.

I think that version is a pretty common card in ungraded form. It came included with starter sets back in the day. I believe the first edition shadowless machamp was as the one that would should up in booster packs and is more valuable. Still a great card and pickup though.

Yup that’s why it’s best to just buy sealed booster boxes at or below msrp at these invents. Or PSA 10s if you’re a good haggler and know how to pick them, but it’s a gamble with slabs going up or down. Best bet is the booster boxes

Yup, I have seen them at numerous card shows and they are never at comps/market. Always way above but you can get away with it at the bigger shows. Can't knock the hustle if people aren't smart enough to comp the cards themselves.
