[ ITA ] Nell’ultimo episodio della web serie su Venezia Patrimonio dell’UNESCO, Patrizio Roversi a Torcello incontra e intervista uno dei fondatori del mito gastro-culturale della città: Arrigo Cipriani, proprietario del mitico Harry’s Bar. La storia è nota: suo padre Giuseppe nel 1930 ha prestato generosamente dei soldi a un turista americano spiantato di nome Harry, che poi fa fortuna e glieli restituisce con gli interessi. Giuseppe allarga il suo localino in piazza San Marco e lo chiama Harry’s Bar, da cui anche il nome di suo figlio, Arrigo! Da allora Harry’s Bar è diventato un marchio enogastronomico di fama mondiale, che ha inventato tra le altre cose il Bellini e il Carpaccio. Cipriani però continua a vivere a Venezia, dove sull’isola di Torcello coltiva i suoi carciofi e li spedisce nei ristoranti di lusso di tutto il mondo. Anche un carciofino può diventare un oggetto di lusso, perché il lusso - dice Cipriani - sta nell’anima delle cose, nell’intelligenza che ci ha messo chi l’ha creato.
[ ENG ] In the latest episode of this web series on Venice, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Patrizio Roversi meets and interviews Arrigo Cipriani, owner of the famed Harry's Bar. The story is widely known: in 1930, his father Giuseppe kindly donated money to an impoverished American visitor called Harry, who went on to create a fortune and repay the loan with interest. Giuseppe develops his small bar in Piazza San Marco and renames it Harry's Bar, giving rise to his son, Arrigo! Since then, Harry's Bar has become a world-famous culinary and wine company, having invented the Bellini and the Carpaccio, among other things. Cipriani, on the other hand, remains in Venice, where he grows artichokes on the island of Torcello and ships them to premium restaurants throughout the world. Even an artichoke can become a luxury object, because luxury, according to Cipriani, lies in the essence of things, in the intellect placed into them by people who created them.
