Venezia vs Piemonte: Is It Really Better?

8:48 That is my favorite thing about the Venezia; shooting AP into cruisers that assume all you're going to use is SAP and give you a sweet broadside at 8km or less. 8 or 9 citadels in one volley makes many a believer.

Ever since Venezia got released, it has been my favourite ship. Hands down. Piemonte isn't replacing anything, I even dislike how it looks.

@Potato Quality personally I think this is a good ship and a solid upgrade over Venezia, really the only downside I’ve felt is the lack of range because no spotter plane. Either way if we really wanted to talk about ships that don’t present a decent upgrade and/or are worst then the t10 we can’t go without mentioning basically every super battleship released after patrie, just look at the number of disadvantages Ushakov has over Kremlin, fatter hull, worst torpedo belt etc for the second to worst set of combat instructions and AA mounts that live? How about devastation that’s supposed to be an HE spammer with the worst reload of all British researchable battleships of the line, it only gets 9k more HE dpm vs conqueror with fancy plating to go with and that’s it, or worst to come, Maine has the second to worst sigma of all researchable American battleships in the game, along with the second to worst reload of all researchable American battleships in the game, and to top it off its combat instructions are basically useless. Like seriously how do people wonder why satsuma is the most spammed super bb and how everyone is told it’s the only one worth it with all this considered. It’s almost as if it has literally no competition because every after patrie is garbage.

if you put things to scale, some ships like the Annapolis are like a tier13, others are tier 11-12s, but the more recent ones are more like a 10.2-10.5 level of improvement. my guess is over time their will be some small buffs to some, and nerfs to others to even them out a bit more.

A lot of the community does. They're both dented T12s in power. Most of the newer superships are close to true T11s, @@Kireiji

@@Kireiji Annapolis is strong, Conde is cancer. A good Annapolis helps his team win the game, but a Conde just makes everyone uncomfortable by forcing everyone to kite

I unlocked Venezia only recently but she's great. I do think if you're not gonna take range mod, you absolutely need EitS. More planes and half the cooldown, it's a no-brainer.

I really dislike how the Piedmonte looks, and the worse maneuverability as well as the smaller number of guns and worse angle of firing makes me think that it's at best a sidegrade to Veny and at worst a downgrade from Venezia gameplay. However, had Piedmonte been a BC line with emphasis on accurate SAP and SECONDARY Sap like how the German BC is to the BB line I would very welcome it. I would love myself an ITA BC line with emphasis on Sap secondary with crawling smoke and perhaps emergency speed boost like the Ita DDs for some stupidly high-speed decisive rushes.

I feel like superships are becoming stupid whale baits. These new superships are just blatantly designed to be fool proof relative to their T10 counterparts but loses out on the damage end (Tier scaled) to compensate. I'm pretty sure percentage wise more Satsumas spam HE than Yamatos, which shows a bit about the demographics of superships. This is probably the "silent majority (of Money)" that WG keeps whining about.

Veny is pretty strong, but I find that true of all the SAP pasta cruisers. BUT, they do play different because of their long reload.

Honestly I'd argue Piemonte is the second worst super cruiser. All the others offer something significant over their tier 10 counterparts. Speed, gun volume, and burst fire with Conde. Armor, DPM, gun volume, AA, and burst fire with Annapolis and Edgar (and better torps with Edgar). Novosibirsk is the only one I'd say is just worse. Especially compared to Petropavlovsk.

To be honest , you are up close and personal or medium range player , so spotter shouldn't be that much of the issue for you. I love Venezia , but with all superships around you have to play her long range. From what i have sen from your videos , Piedmonte can take kittle bit more punishment.

Iffy?; Napoli has 9 HE/AP main guns, SAP secondaries, heavier armour, but slower reload. I use secondary 3rd slot and reload last slot so it stays a bit flexible but there are arguments for full main gun and hilarious option with full secondary.
