This was Elvis he was most comfortable with his fans. When he started live performances again in1968, he told a reporter the reason he wanted to be back out in live performances was because he missed the closeness of a live audience.

Yes Elvis was a lot of fun on stage you get a bit of everything at his shows. He loved his fans. They also loved him Very much. He was the best for helping people. He would give houses, Cars, jewellery, money, checks, and come to peoples need if he heard about someone going through difficulty. Jus to mention a few things,

"Security"? VG, the _husbands_ of these ladies was his security! He had a remarkable charm and humility that both men and women were flattered by. He always had the whole room in his hands because he was a decent guy, and respected.
@MoMoMyPup107 ай бұрын
But, this is not reflective of his whole performances at all. If he did a 90 minute show, this would take up 10 minutes of playing to his female audience. The rest he usually sang his butt off.

Elvis’ had at least 4 of his security plus his manager, Col. Parker following along side him as he was going through the showroom. I’m 66 and actually saw Elvis 5 times . I saw him at the Chicago Stadium in June 1972, October 1976 and May 1977, I also saw him in the showroom in this video, The Las Vegas Hilton In August 1974 I saw him twice. Thank you for doing Elvis reactions. Think about it Elvis passed away 46 years ago ad he’s still loved and revered by millions today, new and old fans alike.

You are completely wrong about the fans reaction - they are not shocked, they knew exactly what he was doing, and they were hungry for his kisses themselves.

Hi Fran🙋♂ Hahaha, the women weren't confused, they wanted to be with him and all the men wanted to be him. His charisma was larger than life. Legend has it that three of those women that he kissed fell pregnant!

He did this often. His band followed hie lead. He loved his fans . Especially the women. Performances on stage were different each time. Compared to his recordings all of which are great, he changed lyrics and stuff on a whim. Thank you for your reaction. Would like to see more. Elvis recorded abou 300 400 songs and made about 30 movies and did over a thousand live performances. All from about 1954 to 1977 passing away in 1977. He's still missed by hi fans.

Thanks for this reaction. The Guys were not jealous because if they were smart then they could use their Ladies' feelings to their mutual advantage later that night. The Ladies would be in a very good mood:) I NOW realise why Elvis turned the wrong way towards the camera as he had to kill 10 seconds to time his return to the front row to fit it in with the next line of the song which required an embrace:)

He couldn't come down every night to walk through the crowd. There were actually body guards paving the way. By the way, it was he's return to performing, and therefore, the first and probably last time he could walk through the crowd without completely getting attacked.

Remember he was the most sexy man for more than 10 years, and people that met him say he was the most beatiful man ever! So the womens in the audience all wanted to get a kiss from him, just look up what famous people said about him, great reaction

Jane H commenting …. It always makes me smile to see young people reacting to this particular video. I assure you, those ladies being kissed, were extremely happy & are probably still telling their grandchildren & great grandchildren that they were kissed by a superstar, Elvis Presley. Some of the ladies actually gave monetary bribes to get spots down by the front of the stage, in the hope of being kissed. There was nothing wrong with it in my day. It was all very innocent. Elvis loved his fans & always wanted to give them a concert experience to remember. I think that this was the only time he actually got down off the stage, & his bodyguards & the hotel security had to rush to get close to him, but he was never in any danger.
@tomblevins41336 ай бұрын
Love Me Tender was recorded by Elvis about 15 years before that. It was the title song from his first movie. It was new words to the tune of an older ballad, Ora Lee. As for women in the audience coming up to Elvis for a kiss, some women would throw room keys, and even panties on the stage when Elvis performed.
@davidlestervoice89147 ай бұрын
This was 1970. People respected performers, performers were mindful of the fans. In this short video I counted at least three of Elvis' personal bodyguards. The cuts in the video didn't help pointing out the guards. Elvis could take care of himself, black belt, as well as the "guys" that were near him.
@mysticalbuttmonkeys4058Ай бұрын
Elvis also always carried two guns..he had a Derringer in his belt and a small .38 strapped to his ankle at all times.

He kinda argued like the old great King Olav of Norway, when he dodged security. Being told that on the subway Olov simply answered: I got 4 million security guards! The Norwegian people.! Elvis is along the same way. Him going out among the fans is a security nightmare, but everyone there do love him.

There are some great performances from Elvis's August 1970 Vegas set (where this video comes from). This is perhaps one of the sillier moments in the show but demonstrates the lengths Elvis would take to react to the demands of his audience. By now, word was likely out that this is what to expect during his shows - granted perhaps not always to this magnitude. I recommend the 1970 live version of "Suspicious Minds" next. While not his best song from the show, you get to see his performative lengths in full display. Nicely done - I subscribed and look forward to seeing more from you!

Elvis's bodyguards caught up to him shortly after he went into the audience....check out the guy in the dark blue pin striped shirt and also the tall one in the red shirt. I the early days before he had security he was often chased thru the building while fans tore off his clothes.

If you actually want to see and hear him sing, there is a ton of great material from these shows filmed for the 1970 documentary, Elvis- That’s The Way It Is. Bridge Over Troubled Water, You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling, I Just Can’t Help Believing, Polk Salad Annie, Suspicious Minds, etc.

The 1970s was so much more free than today. 1he 1950s were still very conservative, until Elvis, as a 19 year old, started his professional career. Young people loved his innovative approach to his stage performances, where he danced as he sang, which no White singer had ever done before. Singers stood still while they sang, but Elvis danced. He was a global superstar by 1956, when he was 21. The 1960s were a revolution for women, giving them more freedom than they had ever had, with the Hippy movement coming along. The Hippy slogan was Make Love, Not War. So by 1970, when this concert took place, this was not shocking, & especially when it was Elvis doing the kissing. He was the only singer doing this, & probably the only singer who women were lining up to be kissed by, & their husbands & boyfriends encouraging them in many cases, because they could then brag that their wives/girlfriends had been kissed by Elvis. It was all harmless fun. I think it amuses most of us older people, who lived through the 60’s & 70’s, to see how shocked young people nowadays are, while us older people are shocked at the level of sexual freedom that exists now.

It amazes me how stupid, ignorant and easily offended today's society has become. Back in those days it was all normal and freaking pushed by today's horrific "standards" Elvis loved his fans, his fans would go the mile just to get a kiss. It's a freaking kiss you young people get over it. Today you get harrased for only looking at a woman 🤮
